My eyelids were like bricks as I tried to open them, I couldn't remember anything my memory was an empty pit of darkness.
Who was I? Where was I? What was going on?
Wait, was I dead?
The only sound I could hear was continuous long dreary beeps, I tried again to painfully open my eyes but it caused me too much pain. Imagine someone burning your whole body with acid and then coating it in fire. That was the immense pain that overwhelmed me. I was a fighter and I was going to open my eyes even if it killed me, which it may already have. I tried again and this time I was slowly coming around, they were half open. I was astounded by the pure white light in the room, it caused me more agony but no way in hell was I going to take the easy route. Nothing about my life had been easy and I seriously was not going to let something as minor as a little pain stop me. I've cut myself for years, I knew what pain was and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I winced again as I continued to open my eyelids until I could fully see. I scanned the bare room and nothing came to my mind, it was just white. Nothing but a metal framed white bed with white speckled sheets and a metal table with the stupid beeping machine on top of it. My heart started racing as I realised I had no clue where I was, the beeping became faster and more intense and I started to get really scared.
Why was this machine beeping at me?
Was I becoming mental?
How could I get out of here?
The machine started beeping faster and I cried out, in agony I covered my ears with my hands and screamed. I screamed as loud as I could until I couldn't hear the beeping anymore, I needed to drown out the noise that was slowly killing my braincells. I only stopped yelping when I felt a cold hand touch my arm gently. My eyes darted around the room until I realised I wasn't alone. There was a man in the room with me, he was wearing a long white coat that reached his thigh and underneath a blue shirt and dark blue tie. I started to get scared, why was this man staring at me and what did he want? Around his neck was a long silver cord with two plugs on the end, what was he going to use that for, maybe he would hurt me? As I started to scream again he put his cold hand over my mouth to drown out my cries for help. I stopped screaming after about a minute since my voice was becoming hoarse as I stared wide eyed at him.
"Hello Jordanne, I'm Doctor Alpez. How are you feeling?" he asked kindly as he released his hand from my mouth and rested it on the side of my temple.
"Who's Jordanne?!" I asked warily, I had never heard of anyone called Jordanne or Doctor Alpez.
"You're Jordanne. You were in a car crash and suffered a head injury and short term amnesia," he replied as he went around to the other side of my bed and went towards the beeping machine that was quickly becoming my worst enemy.
"Make it stop!"I yelled as I threw my stiff arms up into the air and flung them down onto the bad angrily.
"Sure Jordanne, will it help you concentrate better if I do?" he asked, I nodded and he turned the hideous thing off before coming back round and sitting on the windowsill that looked out onto a garden filled with flowers or every colour.
"So can you remember anything at all?"
"No, wait who are you?"
He sighed and looked at the ground, "I'm your doctor, your in a hospital after you got into a car accident. How do you feel?"
"My head hurts but I feel a bit better now the noise has stopped. I don't like it." I replied bluntly as he pulled out a clipboard and began flicking through the pages before stopping on a certain one and pulling out a pen from his back pocked.
