District 1 female, Emerald -
1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6...
6 cannons for 6 dead tributes. I was surprised; I thought there'd be more. I had stayed at the cornucopia for the duration of the day.
After the initial bloodbath, no one dared to stay with me at the cornucopia. Every single one of the tributes scampered off in fear. You'd think I felt lonely; I loved it.
The cornucopia was filled with things to help me through the Arctic conditions: there was weapons, obviously, as well as food, sleeping bags and thermal clothing. I took the large mace and a couple of sharp knives with serrated edges.
Perching at the edge of the cornucopia, under the roof which was protecting me from the flurry of snow coming down, I strained my ears for any sound of incoming tributes.
All was silent for a couple hours.
However, at dusk the unmistakable sound of people heading my way filled the clearing. I readied myself for the fight.
I saw them break through the foliage and froze. There was about 11 of them.
I froze for one precious second, soaking in the state of them. Almost half of them were injured in some way and they didn't look to have many weapons. Obviously, they were coming to get the cornucopia off me.
Let them try.
Wielding my mace, I prepared for them.
The leader, the boy from 2, I think, stepped forward first. He was the most heavily armed. Immediately, he threw a axe at me, aiming for my head. I ducked, and it flew at the strong exterior of the cornucopia.
The snow was making my visibility weak. The settled snow reflected the sun, making everything brighter and the falling snow made it harder to see the attack on me.
Grunting at his failed attack, the boy indicated for 5 of the group to go. He was telling them to go and raid the cornucopia. I wasn't fazed, however, as I had already got everything I needed in a small rucksack, which was strapped firmly to my back.
I felt more confident, 6 was much easier then 11.
I ran towards them, making the first move. I went for the smaller girl. She saw me heading her way and ran into the woods. This annoyed me. I wanted to kill her, not scare her off.
Disgruntled, I turned to another boy and hit him hard over the head with my mace, killing him instantly.
Another one of the girls was running at me, so I threw one of my knives with precision and planted it in her heart.
Ducking from the swords, knives and clubs coming at me, I made my way to the District 2 boy, Uriah, killing 2 more people on my way. I was so quick to kill them that I didn't even know if they were male or female. I gave quick death blows, saving all my malice and murderous ways to the District 2 boy. I recollected that his name was Uriah.
I ran to him. At 10 metres away I threw a knife, which should have hit him in the heart, but he dodged and it just scraped his arm.
He wielded his sword; I wielded my mace.
I swung for his head, and he swung for my leg.
I hit his head with such force that I heard his skull crack.
