Chapter 33

We land in a clearing covered in tents and makeshift houses. There are thousands of people in the clearing and the second I see them my heart begins to race. Diana turns to me.

"My mom lives in a house at the end, it's faster to fly there." She says.

I nod and turn to Evan.

"We'll be here when you get back." He promises and i take a deep breath.

"Okay." I sigh. "Let's go."

The girls and I stand in a circle. "Girls, ENCHANTIX!"

We all transform and fly into the air. As we fly I look under me at the people and families of Linfea. They look like they are living comfortably but it seems as if some have already began packing their things. I hope they aren't preparing for me to take the throne...

"Rose watch out!" The girls all scream and I prepare myself for an attack but instead four fairies fly straight into me and we all start falling. I catch myself and expect them all to do that as well but one of the girls doesn't. She accidentally exits fairy form and I gasp as she screams. She won't have enough time to transform before she hits the ground. I immediately dive down after her.

Everyone below her gasps and looks up.

"Help!" She screams.

"Hold on!" I yell as I approach her.

Just as she is about to hit the ground, I get under her and catch her. However, the force of her fall makes me fall over and we drop about a foot to the ground. I land on my butt with a huff. I groan and someone outstretches a hand to help me up. I take it and a woman helps me up as a crowd gathers around us.

"Thank you." I say to her and walk a few steps to the young fairy. "Are you okay?"

She looks up. "I think so. Thank you."

"Don't mention it." I say and the girls fly down to us.

"That was quite a save." Jenna says. "I would've done it less dramatically though."

"Says the Queen of Drama herself." I laugh and she nods.

"Princess Rose?" Someone asks and a bunch of people gasp.

"It's her!"

"I saw her on the news!"

"She's all they talk about on Mornings in Magix!"

"How is she alive?"

"Hello everyone." I laugh awkwardly and wave at everyone. They stare back at me.

Then they all start talking and asking me questions at the same time.

"Please, Please!" I shout to get everyone's attention. "I know I haven't exactly been a progressive princess, but I'm working on it. I'm going to tell you all something, okay? And when I do you all must know that I'm not making any promises because we can't know for sure if this is going to work... My friends and I are working on unfreezing Linfea."

The crowds erupt into cheers and popular Linfean chants. I smile.

"There is also one more thing!" I grin, happy to tell everyone the big news. "I believe that my parents, the king and queen, are alive. And I am going to find them."

Once again the crowd goes crazy and I smile as some people even burst into tears. I look back at my friends and they all smile. Jackie and Jenna give me thumbs up. I then fly up into the air with my friends following behind me.

"Goodbye princess!"

"Goodbye!"

"Goodbye!"

That went much better than I thought.

When we reach Diana's parent's house we step inside and we all run into her mother's library.

Flora is shocked that her daughter, whom she did not know achieved Enchantix, just barged in with an ancient Linfean scroll.

After gazing down at the scroll she gasps. "Where did you get this?"

"Linfea." Diana speaks up. "We went on a mission to find clues about Lilly's parents. So, what does it say?"

I can tell that Flora is a bit shocked that her daughter was completely honest with her. i would have said that we found it in a library or something.

"I'll show you." She says and waves her hand. Then a translated version of what the scroll says appears on the notepad next to it.

I grab it and read.

You will find the King and Queen of Linfea in their golden cage. The cage is somewhere safe and it is very dear to someone. They will stay in this cage until the cage has been handed over to Romulous, the King's most trusted advisor. Once Romulous has truly opened the cage, there will be a struggle and their daughter will be pulled in two different directions.

"A golden cage." I repeat to myself. "That could be anything!"

"It is dear to someone. And this person is keeping this possession safe." Tasha says. "Your parents wouldn't just leave their lives in the hands of anyone. It had to be someone they trusted."

"Maybe my gran?" I ask and they all shrug.

"What about you?" Flora asks me.

"They hardly knew me, why would they trust me with their lives?" I ask.

"Because you are their daughter, their very own flesh and blood." She insists and I nod. "So, do you happen to own anything golden that is precious to you?"

I think for a moment and then it hits me. I reach up to my neck and panic when I don't feel the cold metal chain of my locket.

"My necklace!" I exclaim. "Where'd it go? I had it before I passed out!"
