We looked out the window at the new found 'ghost town'... It really was terrifying seeing those... Things everywhere. After what happened with the one that got in we decided we couldn't stay. We went up stairs and got two backpacks. We grabbed some water bottles, food (granola bars, soup cans, stuff that wont go bad soon). It was pretty chilly out so we got two jackets too. We walked outside, our jackets on, backpacks on our backs and our baseball bats ready. We didn't know what these things were but we knew they were dangerous. We looked around close to home for Karla (James's Mom). We found nothing, sadly.

"I guess neither of us know where our parents are now." James said clearly upset.

I shook my head, "I'm sorry James" I said to him as we walked back into the house.Once inside we sat down. "At least we have each other" I said trying to comfort him.

"Yeah... We do make a good team" he smirked.

I smiled slightly, after I sighed "We cant stay here" I said looking out the window.

"Yeah... But we cant just walk past them" He replied shaking his head.

"Yeah" I said discouraged. ".....But... We could drive..." I asked a mischievous smirk.

"Drive? Alex were thirteen! We have three years till drivers ed! How are we supposed to drive!" He said thinking I'm crazy.

"Well... My Grandparents taught me a little... And its not like there's a lot of cars on the rode... We'll take back roads just in case.. and-" I said but he cut me off.

"And go where exactly?" he asked me.

"We'll go to my house... I have some supplies... and I can get some clothes for myself" I explained.

"okay I guess... ill go get some of mine before we leave'' He said getting up.

I followed him upstairs. He got a change of clothes and put it in his bag. I talked as he did this, "Those.. Things.. Cant get in the car... We'll be safe in there too... Once we get back to my place ill get some clothes ... And.. Oh! that's right... ill get my dads hunting knife and my sword" I said thinking out loud.

"Your sword? Like my sword staff?" he asked putting his backpack on his back.

"Yeah, but mine is like a 'Samari Sword'... my dad got me one for Christmas, remember?" I inquired.

"Ohhh yeah... RIght" he mumbled the last part.

We were both very much into cool swords and weapons. I don't know why but we just are. He was always making new knives or spears with his brother. He even made a long staff where one end of it had a blade about a foot long. That, is what he was bringing with him. I on the other hand got a sword for Christmas from my dad. James taught me how to use it. Last summer my dad had taught me how to shoot a gun and use a hunting knife. So, with all this we were both pretty good with weaponry.

After he got his stuff we went down stairs I took the keys for the car off the counter and quietly went outside. I got in the drivers seat and him in the passengers seat. I took a deep breath, trying to relax. Which may I add, was hard, when I had to drive... Plus there were those things roaming around.

"Okay now Alex... Im putting my life in your hands... that are on the wheel" he said nervously. Gripping onto the handle on the ceiling.

"Relax... My driving is the last thing you have to worry about" I said putting the keys in the ignition. Trying to keep myself calm.

"True" he tilted his head slightly.

I started the car and the... Things, started coming towards us, like they were attracted to the sound of the car. They started banging on the windows. Fear took both of us over. We were both scared.
