After exhausting day at work, I get in my car and drive back home for a 2 hour break until I have to babysit and girl named Natalie. She's 10 years old but has a sassy personality. I've already babysat her 7 times before which was surprising fun because she listens to punk pop and post-hardcore music like me. Once she starts talking about music, she will literally not stop. The only way to get her to stop is to put on songs by All Time Low, Sleeping With Sirens, and Pierce The Veil. She has such great taste in music.
I sloppily get out of my Cadillac and walk up to my door where a box sits. I crouch down to see who it is addressed from. "From: Hopeless Records" Being seriously confused, I walk into my house with the box and put it on my kitchen table. I don't remember ordering anything. I stand there staring at the box while thinking about what's in it. Getting myself out of my deep thoughts that lasted bout 5 minutes, I pull out my Swiss army knife that hangs on my key chain. It comes in handy when you need to open something or need to stab somebody... Joking. As I get close to the object on my table, my palms start to sweat. I have no clue why I'm so paranoid by this box. My gut feeling tells me it is something really important because I never get mail unless it is advertisements. Plus, why would I get a package from a record label.
I finally concur my thoughts and stab the tap on the box and grace the knife through it. The box folds/flaps raise up a little and give me a view of the inside. There in the middle lies 2 Pierce The Veil t-shirts, 2 Sleeping With Sirens t-shirts, a few bracelets from both bands, a PTV snapback, and an envelope. My mind is spins as I pick up the envelope up and tear open the top. My fingers pull out 2 tickets with backstage passes to the Collide With The Sky Tour and a letter.
My eyes run over the words on the paper and what completely grab my attention was:
"Congratulations, you, Skylar Jones, gave won 2 tickets to the Collide With The Sky Tour. You will get to experience meeting and hanging out all day Pierce The Veil and Sleeping With Sirens with your backstage passes. This offer is very limited due to the amount of tickets available. This contest is from a raffle that involves all employees of Hot Topic. We hope you attend this once in a life time chance and continue to congratulate you on this prize."
Wow! That is literally all that I'm thinking right now and I feel really numb. Is that normal? Jeez ... How long have I been standing here? I glance over at the wall clock and freak out more. It 4:35 pm, meaning that I have 25 minutes til I have to babysit Natalie. I've been in such a astonishing phase that an hour and thirty-five minutes has passed. I hurry upstairs into my room to splash water in my face and fix my makeup to be presentable. I run back down to the table and put the tickets in my bag. Looking back at the clock, I have 20 minutes to get to her house. The drive is about 10 minutes so I might as well stop and get something to eat. All I had for today was a coffee excluding the banana which is still in the passenger seat. I need to remind myself to throw it away.
(Hey again! I literally pulled my hair out trying to write this, not to mention that I wrote it at 5 am and finished at 10 am- no breaks. Also, Ignore the dates of the tour because then it would have to be winter and I feel like late spring soooo....yeah. sorry the dates are inaccurate. Thank you for reading and I hope you like it. I feel proud of myself. Please comment to let me know how it is. But, please be nice, I'm sensitive. And if you have any ideas for this story. I'm all ears. Love ya! bye!)
