Let's Dance!!

Chapter 1

"Two, three, four and one" called out Nathan as he was counting out loud the beat for the new rumba we were learning. As per usual I was dancing alone, but this time was different, I was meeting my partner for the first time. "Take a two minute break guys." I heard Nathan say, "what's up Shaniah?" asked Nathan, he sounded calm though he didn't show it. "Oh nothing," I said still looking at the clock. "Spill. You've been acting weird the whole lesson." Said Nathan placing his hand on my shoulder, his concerned look made me worry even more. "OK fine. I'm supposed to meet my new dance partner today and I'm a little worried." I said anxiously, "why would you be worried?" asked Nathan, " look at me," he gently said "You're a great dancer." He continues answering his question. "No it's just that he's not here yet." I said. "He might be late. He'll be here. People get late some times" said Nathan with a reassuring smile. I smiled and nodded. "Ready to get back to class now?" He asked ushering me back into the middle of the class. Nathan put on Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud and we already started our Rumba, and this time I was dancing with Nathan. He was the best dancer there, I mean he had to be he was the most experienced and our teacher. Nathan lead me into a fan into 3 Alamanas into a hip twist into another fan into hockey stick in to an over turn into a natural top when Nathan and I were up to our drop, I saw a figure standing and looking at me, he looked impressed. The song was almost over and Nathan spun me out and I finished the performance with a bow, we also got an unexpected round of applause from my class mates who, had just stopped to look at Nathan and I dancing. Nathan smiled at me and mouthed the word 'good.' I smiled sheepishly and together we separated off. "So that's all the time we have, keep practising and I'll see you next week." Said Nathan as he bowed to the class. "Still got class with you?" asked Nathan "yeah." I said walking to grab a drink.

I walked to where the man who applauded standing on the side of the studio, he was watching me closely, "good job over there." He said. There was a familiarity in his voice and I recognised his face from somewhere. "Thank you." I said and smiled at him. "Can you please tell me where I can find Shaniah?" asked the man, his blond hair was sitting perfectly on his oval face. He was wearing a tight brown t-shirt and dancing pants and shoes. His forming abbs were sticking out of his shirt. It was a good look on him. "Yeah," I said. "And..." he said waiting for a response. "oh, You're talking to her." I said smiling. "Oh. Hi, I'm Derek Hough, your new dance partner." He said opening his arms for a hug. I smiled and hugged him. "Wait hang on a second, you're the Derek Hough?" I asked, that name rang a bell in my mind for a reason, Derek Hough, Derek Hough. The dancer. "Were you on Dancing with the stars?" I asked Derek, "Yeah, I was. But now I'm looking for some real action on the floor." He said smiling. "That's awesome, I mean you're awesome.' I said blushing. "I'm sorry how old are you?" asked Derek "oh I'm twenty three." I said with a smile. "I've got a lesson now with Nathan, you can join if you want." I said invitingly. "Cool." He said placing his bag on the floor. I took a sip of water and like a gentleman he took my hand and we walked to the centre of the dance floor, to where Nathan was standing. "Nathan this is Derek, and Derek this is Nathan." I said introducing each other to each other. They shook hands and Nathan asked Derek "aren't you a professional?" "yeah, well I was but I retired and now I'm looking for some action on the floor and doing dancing with the stars." Replied Derek with a smile. "So what do you want to start with?" asked Nathan. "What do you think?" I asked looking at Derek. "I'm ok with anything." He said. "oh I just stated gold star." I said filling Derek in on the information. "ok cool." He said. "can we please do a Cha Cha ?" I asked. "I don't see why not." Said Nathan and Derek together. "you know the steps and I don't need to teach you right ?" asked Nathan. "just say the routine out loud." Said Derek.
