"Wow!" I exclaimed to my mum as we walked to the front of our new house, "This place is huge!"
Our new house was as big as a castle. "I hope you like this place, Sweety," My mum told me, "I have got the movers to put your boxes in your room. Now all you have to do is find it. Good luck!""Thanks a lot mum, I'll be going now." I called to her as I ran across the threshold.
I ran pass the kitchen and the lounge room, straight up to the second floor. I checked every door I passed getting deeper and deeper inside. After half hour or so of checking every door I went passed, the idea of finding my room was getting boring. When I was about to go back downstairs to ask where my room was, a small flash of silver caught my eye. On closer inspection the piece of silver was on a piece of string attached to the roof. I thought it must be a staircase leading to the attic and that it would be the perfect place for my room to be.
I tugged on the string expecting stairs to slide down, but instead I was greeted with a trapdoor opening from under me and falling to who knows where. My decent began and I could feel I was going down on an angle like a slide. I soon realised when I landed I wouldn't get hurt so I wondered about what lay before me.
Suddenly, I saw a bright light, I was momentarily blinded as my feet hit the ground. Stumbling forward I reached out to anything to reestablish my balance. My hands hit something just as I was about to fall over. I let my eyes adjust to the sudden change of lighting and as soon as they did I realised that I was in some sort of catacomb and the sudden bright light was only a few candles that surrounded me.
I wasn't sure what to do and the only way out was a path lighten by candles but that seemed to obvious to be true. I picked up one of the candles careful not to spill any of the wax and search the room, I couldn't believe it, but there was no other way to get out except for the path glowing by candlelight.
Cautiously, I stepped forward thinking that there must be traps of some sort set up along the way. As I finally reached the path I started to get impatient if I continued at this pace who knows how I will be stuck down here. I hurried at first a fast walk, then a jog, and eventually a sprint.
I kept at this for what seemed like hours. The tunnels never ending, I didn't even know if there was a ending, I told myself that I shouldn't think like that, that I would find a way out as long as I stayed positive.
There was a turn in the path and it split into two. One path led to a bright light which I guessed was the sunlight, I ran towards it not bothering to look at the other pathway. In a few seconds I reach the end of the tunnel but instead of being outside I was staring at a pool full of lava and a bunch of computers surrounding it. 'A secret laboratory?' I thought.
"You shouldn't have come here." A familiar voice told me, then I felt someone shove me from behind.
I was falling, falling into the lava pool......
