-Sherlock POV-
I wake up and go down stairs to play my violin. After about, i'd say, thirty minutes of doing so, I hear a knock at the door. Not bothering to stop playing, I take the simpler solution. "Enter." I hear the door open then close, small and light foot steps following shortly, ones that I've never heard before. "You may sit if you wish." I hear the light sound of the mysterious visitor sitting on the couch. "What, does the world's only consulting detective not greet his guests properly, even if they have a case?" The voice was feminine, though much younger than I gathered from the knock. I turn around to be greeted by a young lady with a wool hat and a sweater, still showing her shoulder-length light brown hair. There are light red marks on her face and neck showing signs of abuse, this girl has abusive parents, that's why she's here. She has Winter boots on and long jeans and, though I can't see them, i'm sure there are more marks on her arms and legs. "Ah, though I scarcely greet guests properly, i'm always one for a good case. So, what is the case, Miss...." "Ashley. My name is Ashley, no need for Miss. Though, I suppose that was just a nice way to ask my name, wasn't it Mr. Holmes?" I stare at her for a moment. "I've not told you my name, Ashley, so how do you know it?" She gives me a, 'you really didn't figure that out?' look and sighs. "All of London knows who you are, Mr. Holmes. You've made quite the reputation for yourself. I figured you weren't Mr. Watson, because as far as I know, he is a bit more friendly. Now, do you want me to tell you the case?" I take one last look at her to make sure I don't miss anything and get the case wrong. "You have abusive parents, and you want me to stop them, plain and simple." She lets out a small chuckle. "Mr. Holmes, you are truly magnificent, but wrong. I want you to get the abusive orphanage I live in shut down and make sure all of the other children get either good homes or a normal orphanage to stay at, including myself. Could you do that for me?"
-Ashley POV-
A look of small shock enters his eyes, but soon disappears. "I'm looking forward to seeing you again for further information on the case. For now, my colleague will be back any second now, and I would rather not have to explain your situation too quickly." I nod. "Thank you, Mr. Holmes." "Just Sherlock will do." I feel my heart flutter with excitement. "Well then, thank you, Sherlock." I turn to leave and begin walking to the door. "Oh, and, one more thing, Ashley." I turn to face him. "Yes?" "I don't want you to risk yourself further. Can you go get some of your things then be back later?" I feel my muscles tense with pure glee. "Yes, I can. Anything else?" "Yes, actually. You seem to know a lot about me. I'm guessing that your orphanage doesn't allow electronics, so how do you have this knowledge?" I smirk. "You don't have to be an adult to have a mind palace, or to have the ability to deduce." I saw his mouth open slightly in shock. "Oh, and having the bed closest to the fire escape also has it's advantages. How do you think I got here? Will that be all, Sherlock?" He nods slightly, and I leave the flat, passing a man who appears to be John Watson on the street. I quickly make my way to the orphanage and pack a small back pack, filling it with clothes, a jacket, sneakers, and my favorite childhood toy. I can leave after lunch. The intercom comes on just as I zip up my pack. "All orphans report to the dining hall, immediately! Anyone late can and will be punished!" Speaking of lunch......
