Dylan's POV

I awoken to a small beeping sound next to me. I opened my eyes and looked at my surroundings. I was in a white room with white walls, a white ceiling, and white machines. I looked over to see Mother curled up on a small couch in the corner and Dad sitting against the wall on the floor next to her. I saw bundles of flowers and many stuffed animals that rested around the room. My eyes fell onto the body that sat at the foot of my bed. Their hair was in disarray and they were hunched over, it was Niall.

"Darling, you're awake." Mother gasped before hopping off the couch and approaching me.

"Where am I?"

"You're in the hospital Dylan. You attempted suicide." Dad spoke calmly as he rested his hand on mine.

"I know that. But what happened?"

"Niall here ran home when he saw the video and stopped you. Dylan he saved your life." Mother cheered, her voice piercing my ears. My head felt heavy from all the meds flowing through me and cheering wasn't helping.

"Can I please talk to Niall alone?" I sighed, deeply frustrated.

"Honey you-."

"Please?" I pleaded. They both sighed and headed outside to the hallway.

"Hey Dylan." Niall smiled as he stood up from his spot.

"Why did you do it?"

"What do you mean?" His eyes narrowed in confusion.

"Why did you save me?" I muttered.

"Because you were going to die!"

"That's the point though! I wanted to! You got in the way and now I'm stuck here! Do you know what it's like to be tormented day after day? Do you know what it feels like to drag a blade across your skin to feel relief? Do you know what it's like to have voices in your mind that are not real tell you lies that you actually believe? Do you know what it's like to find you sister hanging from a rope on your ceiling fan knowing you could have helped her?!" I pulsated in anger. He shook his head no.

"Then you wouldn't understand why I almost did what I wanted to do." I mumbled before burrowing into my sheets. I heard slight movements and then my sheets being lifted from me. I felt Niall lift me up and place me gently in his lap, careful not to entangle with the medicine cord that remained in my hand.

"I may not know what all that feels like, but I know how to help. Please just trust me when I say this, but everything is going to be alright."

"Niall, how do you know?" I sighed before resting my head on his chest.

"Because you now have a friend. And friends are supposed to make the world go round right?" I nodded as he continued. "You're going to be better Dylan, I promise you that."

I must have fallen asleep in his arms. The last thing I remember was being gently put back in bed and whispering.

I opened my eyes to see Mom and a doctor talking.

"Oh look, she's awake. Good evening Dylan. I'm glad to see you're waking up, I'm Doctor Hydes." She smiled as she shook my hand. "How are you feeling?"

"Tired, how long have I been asleep?"

"Oh, about 12 hours. It's normal that you're sleepy though after all the medication we had to give you. I suggest you go for a walk or walk to the cafe for some food just to wake you up." She smiled before leaving the room.

"Is Niall still here?" I asked.

"He texted your phone earlier, he said he would be here in like ten minutes." Mother sighed as she looked down at her watch.

"When he gets here can I see if he'll take me to to Cafe to get some ice cream?"

"I don't see why not." She grinned and took a seat at the couch by the window.

"I'm going to get a head start. I'll be down at the cafe." I told her before exiting my room. I used my cane to steady myself and made sure my gown was closed in the back. The cafe was a floor down. I slowly got into the elevator and pressed the button for the second floor. I was on by myself which made it ten times scarier but I decided not to think about it.

The Cafe was lined with old people and nurses. It smelled of coffee and cheap microwaveable meals and not to mention old people. I trotted over to the booth in the corner and faced the wall so I wouldn't have to look at anyone. I didn't feel like putting up with judgmental, stereotypical, low life's today.

I felt my phone buzz in my gown pocket, it was a text from Niall.

"Where are you? :)"

"In the cafe back booth" I responded.

I played around with some of my apps when in my peripherals I noticed Niall sit down on the other side of the booth, he was holding 2 cups of Vanilla ice cream.

"Hey Dill."

"Hey Nill."

"I guess we've already got nicknames for each other." I smiled at his comment before snatching my cup of ice cream.

"Why are you alway here now?"

"Because I know hanging around adults is as boring as hell and I figured if you had another teenager here maybe you'd stay sane." He chuckled before settling into the booth.

"Niall?"

"Yea?"

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"Saving me."

"I thought you were mad that I did?" He questioned.

"I'm just happy I got another opportunity to eat ice cream again. So thank you."
