Alexis's p.o.v.

Ashley and CC were sitting dow on the coffee table and we sat in front of them. "Okay. Explanation time." CC sighed.

Mason's bottom lip quivered. "Y-You're giving us back! Aren't you!?"

"No, no, no, honey." Ashley assured.

Some tears fell from Mason's cheeks and that's when CC pulled Mason into his lap and wiped his cheeks. "Shush, baby. Listen to us." He spoke. It kind of weirded me out how nice and friendly these guys were.

Ashley sighed. "Okay. Now for one thing, we knew someone. She's an old family friend and she said you two would be perfect for us."

I gave a confused look. "Was and/or is she a social worker?" I asked.

"Yes. Her name is Holly." CC said.

Mason smiled brightly. "Holly! She was the nicest girl ever!"

My eyes widened. "Yeah, she helped us a lot. She's the only one that believed us~" I trailed off. Small world, I suppose?

"Mhmm. She was also our marriage counselor. She helped us through a lot." CC admitted and kept a smile on his face.

Ashley playfully rolled his eyes. "Anyway, we trust her. Apparently you guys do to." We both nodded. "She's been sending us monthly reports, pictures of you guys, and even videos of you guys on your birthday." Ashley smiled.

"She was the closest thing to family we had." Mason spoke softly. It was as if he was on the verge of tears again.

CC squeezed him close. "Hush, baby boy. It's okay." I cringed hearing that. This just seemed to good to be true. I will not get my hopes up again.

"We know a lot about you two. So we didn't need to do a trial visit." Ashley said. A small smile began to creep on my face, but I went out of my way to hide it.

"Hell, even the boys were happy to hear about you two and they're teen boys who are happy about nothing!" CC said with a laugh. Were they happy? They didn't seem it.

"We want you apart of this family, very badly! We did everything in our power to do this. I'm so sorry if it's not good enough, or not what you wanted, but we really love you guys." Ashley said. "We're sorry this took so long to happen." For some reason, I didn't feel like the world was crumbling down. I felt... happy? "CC just melted when he saw you two playing with your stuffed animals. We thought it was adorable when Mason shared his cookie with you. And we both lost it when you dressed Mason up in a little purple dress." Ashley smiled brightly, chuckling a little.

"Umm, I didn't dress him up." I said. They both gave a confused look. I started laughing, "Mason dressed himself up and did his makeup. I don't wear dresses."

Mason's cheeks heated. "Shush! I was five." He pouted. I kept laughing a bit as both adults cooed. Mason's cheeks got a little darker and he hid in CC's chest.

Ashley smiled. "So, are you guys willing to give us a chance?" Mason and I both nodded our heads rapidly. Wait? I'm actually agreeing?! How do I know I'm not gonna get abused? This is bull! How can I just mindlessly say yes? Maybe it's because this band has been the only thing keeping me alive... Something still doesn't feel right, but maybe I need to learn to live in the moment more. "We were hoping you'd say that." Ashley had a huge smile on his face along with CC. He reached behind CC and pulled the papers out of his back pocket. Mason crawled back next to me and we reconnected hands. Ashley gave CC a paper and they both counted to three, "One... two... three..." They both opened the papers and gave one to each of us.
