Cahpter 12: Forest Exploring

Sidney's POV:

"Come with me!" Kate said as she pulled me along. The stream was small but wide. There was a bridge that lead over to a trail. We walked over and into the trail.

"You heard the noise to right?" Kate asks.

"Yes, the second time. What do you think it is?" I ask.

"Maybe an animal, but it could be a person. You never know." We start to walk on the trail listening for the noise. But we didn't hear it again. We must have walked more than half the trail because I couldn't see the hotel anymore. The trail was nice. It was quite and romantic. I could tell Kate was enjoying herself, and I was too. It was a beautiful morning, the sun was just beginning to rise. We kept walking until we came upon a little lake and the trail ended. It was a cute small lake, and no one was around. Kate turned to me.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"Nothing, it's just...the trail reminds me of home. It's like the trail I take Fame on after I ride her. At the end of the trail there is a lake like this one, but a little bigger. My friends and I would go ice skating in the winter and we would swim in the summer. Maybe one day I could show it to you."  

"That would be fun. I would love to see you're horse." I say as I hug her. I try to cheer her up.

"Well, in 4 weeks I am heading home for a few days, but I'm not driving. I an taking a plane...want to come with me?" She asks.

"Yes! I would love to!" She kisses me at that response.

"You are going to love the house and the town!" I hear my phone ring. I pull it out and it's a text from Geno.

Geno: Dude where are you?

Me: With Kate. Why what's wrong?"

Geno: Kate's room door was left open and you two were not there.

Me: Well will be back soon, don't worry.

I look at Kate and she seems really upset. 

"Do you want to head back?" I ask as I put my hands on her hips.

"Sure." I cannot figure out why she is depressed today. She is not talking as much. We get back to the hotel and when we walk across the bridge Max is standing by the stream talking to James. Kate looks at them and she starts to walk backward. She walks into me. I wrap my arms around her and try to comfort her. She pulls me back into the woods a little more.

"Babe, what's wrong?" I ask.

"Nothing, why?"

"Kate you could tell me." 

"Ok fine. It's about Max. Ever sense I heard him over talking with Geno about how much he likes me, I can't get it off my mind. And I know that I have been acting weird, its just because I like you and not him. Every time he is around me he stares at me and I fell weird. I don't know what to do. Max is my friend and I don't want to hurt his feelings. What should I do?"   

"Just stick close to me and Geno. If something happens we will protect you. Don't worry." I say as I hug her. We walk back to the hotel unnoticed by Max and James. We head back our rooms. Kate goes to her room and I go to talk to Geno about Kate's problem.

Kate's POV:

I walk into my room and start to pack up. Our flight leaves in two hours. I can't get my mind off of what Max said in the locker room the other day. Well I have to forget about it because I am with Sidney and I don't like Max, the way that he likes me.

I head back to my house. I park my car and head into the living room. I put my suite cases in the closet. I sit down in the living room. I pull out my phone and I have a text from Max. Great...
