"What are we doing here Dechoi?" A red haired boy asked of his white haired companion. "Why have we come to an orphanage of all places?"
"It's not my choice where the missions are, Kasai," The white haired boy, Deckoi, replied. "Headmistress Sophia chooses these missions. They are suitable for us to do, remember."
"Let's just get this mission over and done with. What is it that we have to do here, again?"
"It says that the kids here are being treated badly," Dechoi said while looking at the mission form
"Why are they making us do this? It sounds as though we can't do anything but help kids. Why couldn't they send other wizards?" Kasai complained as he while headed to the front door.
"It also says here that they have." Deckoi responded. "For some reason, they end up coming back almost dead."
"Really?" Kasai was shocked, but he covered it up quickly. "It goes to show just how weak they were."
"I don't think it is because they were weak. Don't be so rude, Kasai." Deckoi chided. "They might have someone that can use magic."
We knocked on the door and someone answered.
"Hello," a blue eyed man smiled. "Do you need anything?"
"We are lost and it's getting dark," Deckoi lied, smoothly. "We were wondering if we could stay here for the night."
"Sure, come in." The man stepped aside and let us enter.
We looked around the place and it seemed normal. The man took us to an empty room. Everything look as if it has been cleaned today. Something was off. Where were the children? This was supposed to be an orphanage.
"You guys can stay here as long as you want," the man said brightly. "If you need anything just call ." With that he left.
"Hey, Dechoi," Kasai whispered. "This place is creeping me out."
"I know what you mean." Deckoi nervously laughed. "Once the lights are off, we'll sneak out and see what's going on." Kasai nodded.
They waited about an hour and snuck out of our room. They headed down to the other rooms, opening the doors as they went. They saw kids in every room. All the children showed signs of mistreatment.
A girl went up to the boys and asked, "Are you here to save us? If you are, please help our friend who is in a room on her own." She ran back to her friends.
"Let's try to work out what to do," Deckoi said in a hushed voice. Before we could start planning our next move, the man who had let us in appeared out of nowhere.
"What are you boys doing to the kids?"
"We're helping them," Kasai replied in a 'duh' tone.
"As if I'd let that happen," he said, laughing. He got out a whistle and blew it. "Have fun you two!" The man called walking away
"What was he doing? I thought he doesn't want the children to be saved." It seems that Dechoi is a little unsure about what's going.
A young boy ran up to us. "You should leave it's not safe. Everyone that has tried to save us ended up dead."
Someone start to appear out of the darkness and all the kids shut their doors.
After a closer look, they boys discovered it was a girl walking with her eyes closed.
"She looks as if she is sleepwalking," Kasai muttered.
"There is something else going on here," Deckoi whispered, hurriedly. "All the kids shut their doors as if they are scared of her."
"Weak," she stated, more to herself than the boys.
The girl began to attack them with her eyes closed.
"How is she able to see us?" Kasai panted. He seemed to be having a hard time.
"I don't know!" Deckoi exclaimed. "I can't fight back."
"That's right!" Kasai screamed, annoyed. "You can't fight girls."
"it's not my fault!"Deckoi yelled. "Just focus!"
After a few kicks and punches, it seemed as if the girl is getting stronger.
"We need to stop this somehow," Kasai hissed. "She's getting stronger."
Then all of a sudden the girl stopped, she seems as if something wasn't right.
She looked around with her eyes still closed and realised that the kids had all their doors shut. She seemed as though she didn't know what to do. The man came back.
"Zim, what are you doing?" He demanded. "I thought you understood what my commands were, or do I have to remind you? If you fight back, I will kill your friends."
"What are you doing to her?" Dechoi yelled, angrily.
"She only kills the enemies that try to hurt her friends," the man laughed. "That's all."
She suddenly attacked the man and was holding him by the neck. She killed him without hesitation. She, Zim, walked up to the boys and opened her eyes. They were like bloody red.
"Why are you here?" Zim asked, coldly.
"We are here to help the children," Dechoi explained.
"Thank god!" She exclaimed before collapsing in front of them. Kasai caught her.
"Take her with you." Deckoi ordered. "I'll get the other children."
Once Kasai left the building, all the children came pouring out of their rooms with smiles on their faces.
"Thank you for saving our friend! It's time for us to leave now," they all said, happily.
"What do you mean time for you to leave?" Deckoi asked, shocked.
Slowly they started to fade away, one by one. A girl came up to Deckoi.
"The day after Zim sacrificed herself to make sure we wouldn't be hurt the guy killed us all." She explained. "We didn't want to leave her alone so her came back as spirits until someone worthy to look after her came." Then the girl disappeared.
Deckoi made his way outside and saw Kasai waiting for him.
"Where are the kids?" Kasai asked, confused.
"They weren't even alive." Deckoi whispered.
"Are you saying they were spirits?" Deckoi just nodded.
"I wonder if she knew," Kasai wondered. "That's probably why she killed him."
"Let's get back to base," Deckoi suggested quietly. "We should make sure she is treated."
The boys headed back to base with Zim being carried by Kasai.
