Logan graciously shows me to my locker, as we get closer my heart drops into my stomach.

Just a few lockers down stands a shaggy haired boy, wearing dark wash jeans, a white t-shirt, and a leather jacket. Just my luck.

"Oh shit" I say as I turn around bumping into Logan, making more of a scene than I intended. I force myself to turn right and put my combination into my locker. I can feel his eyes on my as I put my books into my locker with shaky hands.

Okay, I lied, Luke is very intimating. I was slightly scared of his presence but I was not going to show any kind of weakness around him or anyone for that matter. Looking out of the corner of my eyes I see something that surprises me. Luke is looking straight at me, but not with anger, more like curiosity.

"Aria, come one were going to be late to English."

"Right." I say, letting go of the breath I had no idea I was holding in.

Turning around to walk down the hall I can still feel his eyes burning a hole into the back of my head.

Stepping into my English class was not what I expected, the whole class decided to stare at Logan and I as we go to the back of the room to get our seating arrangement. Silently sitting in the back of the room I can hear the students whispering.

"That’s the new girl"

"I heard she moved all the way across the country"

"She has her eyes on Luke Cross."

"Do these people know what whispering is? I can hear you loud and clear!" I scream in my head. Luckily the class is interrupted by our English teacher.

"Hello class! We have a new student in our class! Let’s make her feel as welcome as possible!" He says pointing at me, again giving the entire class yet another reason to stare at me. I can feel my face getting hot and their eyes watching my every move.

The day goes by and I am majorly relieved that Luke is not in any of my classes, so I won't have to deal with him. I’m still baffled by the fact that the entire school now thinks that I have 'my eyes' on him. I guess gossip spreads quickly.

I go to my locker at the end of the day to grab all of my stuff and head outside to my car. Let’s just say walking up to a beaten up death trap of a car was not how I wanted to end my first day of school.

EEEEEKKKKKKK. "Gosh dangit, way to draw attention." I close my door and put the keys into the ignition. Taking a look around, I see that they parking lot is almost empty. I turn my key and my car makes an ungodly noise and then a BOOM.

My car just broke down. On the first day of school. Figures.

With a groan I slide down in my seat, a loud honk brings me out of my spiral of self pity. My eyes try to focus on the driver disturbing my long line of swear words, but the sun was shining right in eyes. I start to climb out of the car only to freeze half way out the door.

"Uggg. GO AWAY."  I slam the door.

"Well, hello there to you too sweetheart."

"What do you want Luke?"

"I heard your car, well the whole school heard your car."

"And?" I ask.

"Well...I just"

"Luke I don’t have all day."

"It looks like you need a ride."

"Yeah.." I say with a gleam of hope.

"Well, you better find one!" He says roaring his engine and speeding off.

"UUURRG! What a dick!"

I grab my phone and dial Logan’s number and ask her if she can come and get me, so after ten minutes of my beating my car with my backpack and letting out defeated grumbles I hear the low rumble of army green truck pull up next to my broken pride. Pulling myself up, drag my feet and throw myself into the passenger’s side of her car.

What an awesome first day.
