Prologue
“And the winner of this month’s lottery is #71456” The news reporter said before going to commercial, I looked down at my card the exact moment he said those numbers.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” Oh my god. On my card the numbers read 71456 AHHH.
“Alessia Faith Romara, what in the world caused you to scare the life out of me” my mother’s voice asked as she walked into the living room where I was sitting in front of the T.V.
“MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG WE WON”
“Won what? Honey.” She asked curiously. Oh right I haven’t mentioned to her I entered the contest.
“The lottery we WON $10,000,000” I said with so much excitement.
“Oh my dear god, Alessia this is sooo amazing I can’t believe this” She said before sitting down to hear what the News reporter had to say next while I started dialing the news channel telephone.
Ringgggggg.
Ringgggggg.
“Hello, this is Steven Silvia from the CBC news, I’m assuming your calling to tell me that you’ve won the lottery, I’m sorry but I can’t believe you until you show up here in the next 30 minutes” said the voice at the end of the phone line before hanging up.

I quickly grabbed my car keys and rushed to the car saying a goodbye to my mother who is probably wondering where I have gone. Good thing I still had the lottery card in my hand.
Parking in the parking lot for the news show I quickly walked throw the glass doors and rushed to the place reading the directions the front desk lady gave me to where the show is being which happens to be outside near the Eaton Centre in Toronto.
I ran until I reached there and accidentally bumped into something that felt like brick wall before tumbling down.
“Oomph”
“Oh well watch where you’re going” a deep husky voice that sent chills down my spine said before walking away not letting me get a chance to see his face. Damn that voice though. Brushing off my thoughts I walked to where Steven Silvia was.
“Excuse me Steven Silvia , here this is the lottery card I won the lottery”
“Well Congrats-“
“Alessia, Alessia Romara” I said as his face looked as if he was questioning me for my name.
“Congratulations Alessia Romara, we will give you your check at the end of the show” He finished.
“Now do you have a word to say to Toronto?” He asked. That was when I realized I was on air live the whole time oh god how embarrassing especially in pajamas though.
“Uh- sure um well I’m very thankful for this lottery money it will help my family a lot thank you okay bye” I said quickly and was about to leave when I heard someone laugh/snort at what I just said, I looked to see a guy with the deepest blue eyes I’ve ever seen looking back at me with a unpleasant look on his face.
I wonder what his problem is.
After I got my cheque made my way back home to find myself being crushed into a hug by my older brother and my mom.
“AIDEN GET OFF OF ME, MOM YOU TOO”
“Sorry” they both said in unison.
“So how about that money, what are you going to do with it” Aiden my older brother asked.
I looked up to see him wiggling his eyebrows.
That was the same question that has been lingering in my head for some time……..
