I opened my eyes and found myself in the wood with blood on my hands. I looked around and saw Father on the ground with blood around him. I gasped and went over to him. "No, Father." I checked for a pulse and sighed. He was alive. "Father." I looked at his face. "Please wake up." He groaned and opened his eyes.
"Man, that scent stays on you for a long time." I helped him sit up and he rubbed his head. I hugged him and he hugged me back. "I'm ok." He said but I didn't let go until I heard someone walking around us. I looked and held onto Father's shirt. "Do you know who they are?" He asked and she came into view.
"Kori." I whispered and she smiled at me.
"Hello, Laura." She said and Father stood up. "Yes, your Daddy." I hated the way her gray eyes sparkled when she looked at me. She was going to punish me. "You've been naughty, X-23." I felt Father pull me close and she laughed. "You think Daddy's going to protect you? You forget." She started coming toward us and Father unleashed his claws. "Neither of you can hurt me." Father tried to stab her but it went right through her and she hit him. He hit a tree and I gasped. "You know the rules, animal." She said and came over to me. "Now it's your turn." I started to back away and she grabbed my hair. She started to hit me and Father threw her back. I went to my knees and waited for her to get back up.
"Get up." Father said but I just sat there, looking at Kori. "Laura, get up, now." I quickly stood up and he started to pull me away.
"Get back here, animal!" I heard Kori yell. "That's an order!" I stopped and Father looked at me with a confused look. "Animal! Get back here!" I started to go back to her and Father grabbed my arms.
"You don't have to do what she says." He said.
"Yes I do." I said. "She's my punisher."
"No." He said through gritted teeth. "I'm your father, you do as I say. And I say we are leaving." I nodded and he started pulling me away. After a bit, we got out of the woods and ran into the mansion. There where soldiers everywhere and Scott was looking around. "Summers, get the others. We have one more." He nodded and pulled out his communicater.
"Father." He looked at me. "They won't stop." He sighed than nodded.
"I know." He said.
"They just want me." I said. "I can lead them away." He shook his head.
"No, your staying with me." I nodded and the rest of the X-Men came into the room. After Father told them, Kori came in. The X-Men attacked but no one hurt her. I grabbed Kitty's arms and had her face me.
"Phase her feet through the ground." She nodded and did it. I punched Kori and she fell backwards. Father kept hitting her until I pulled. Jean made Kori black out and I took Father somewhere we'd be alone. We went to the living room and sat on the couch. Father wrapped his arms around me and I curled into a ball. "Father." I looked at him. "What will you do to her?"
"We'll lock her up." He said and I shook my head.
"It won't work." I said. "She'll get out." He shook his head.
"Not in the cell we'll put her in." He said.
"There will still be others." I said. "They won't stop." He nodded and held me tight.
"I know." He said and Jean came in.
"We just put her in the cell." Father nodded and she left.
"What now?" I asked.
"Your staying with me." He said and I nodded. "It's late, we should get some sleep." I nodded and we went to his room. I lied on his bed and he lied next to me. He kissed my cheek and we where asleep.
"That is so cute." I heard someone say and opened my eyes. Father was asleep and had his arm holding me close. Jean and Storm where standing by the door way. Jean took a picture and Father woke up.
"Out." He said and held me tighter. Jean and Storm left. "Sleep well?" He asked and I nodded.
"You?" I asked.
"Yeah." He said and sat up. "It's almost noon." I nodded and sat up too. "Come on." We got up and headed out. "Get dressed." I nodded and went to my room. I pulled on a black skirt, white shirt, my small leather jacket, and my combat boots. When I walked out, Father rolled his eyes.
"What?" I asked.
"I swear, your the only girl I know that'll wear combat boots with a skirt." He laughed and wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "Come one." I smiled and we went to the kitchen. Scott and Kurt was there eating. I sat next to Kurt and Father frowned. We talked for a while than Father grabbed my arm. "Come on, I wanna see how well you are in the Danger Room." I nodded and we went down. Father went up to the control center and turned it on. He had me fight different robots, go through courses, and a big maze. After about two hours, we quit and I took a shower. We went to the living room and watched TV. Kurt came in and sat next to me. We talked and joked around.
"Look at the love birds." We heard someone say and looked to see Jean. She smiled at us and Father moved me away from Kurt. "Logan, they look cute together." He growled and I frowned. He didn't like it when I was with Kurt.
"I'll be in my room." I stood up and went to the door.
"Look what you did." Jean hissed at Father. I went to my room and sat on my bed. I saw something blue from the corner of my eye and looked. A blue flower was on my pillow with a note attatched to it. I picked it up and looked at the note.
With eyes so green and a face of an angle. You took my heart before I knew it. You make my day when I see you smile that beautiful smile. That beautiful sundress made my breath ketch in my throat. Have a nice day, my beautiful angle.
I smiled and smelt the flower. I smelt like a rose and something else. Before I could think of what it was, Father came in. "What's that?" He asked and sat next to me. I handed him the flower and he smelt it. "I'll be back." He walked out and I caught a scent on the note. I took a deep breath and smiled. It was Kurt's scent. That means the flower was from him. I stood up and walked out. I heard Father talking to someone. "I said to stay away from her." He growled and I went to the door I heard his voice. He came out but stopped when he saw me. "Come on." He grabbed my arm and started pulling me away. I looked behind me and saw Kurt walking out of the room. He had an angry look but it disappeared when he saw me. I smiled at him and he smiled back. Father took me to the Danger Room and we practiced awhile.
