I.

The last thing to complete your get-up for tonight was the soft pink lipstick that your mom bought for you yesterday. You gently applied it on your lips as you watched yourself closely in the mirror. Others may say, that tonight was your big night but for you it was not; it is simply a dinner where you can celebrate your 17th birthday together with your family and close friends. You are close to adulthood and you can't help but to get excited and at the same time nervous on what kind of life you are going have as you step on that age. Your mom's footsteps can be heard outside, probably she has been walking to and fro in the corridor to help your father and your little brother on preparing theirselves. You gave yourself a final look at the mirror before you pulled yourself up and headed to the door. You were wearing a simple beige lacy sleeveless frock, your hair have light curls; enough for your coffee brown hair to give a girl-ish look, lastly your pink doll shoes your father that had worked for a week. The shoes were special though, since he made it by himself. Your father was a shoemaker; he works as a personal assistant of a politician in town but his hobby was to make shoes. So he did, spent his free time on working for you shoes.

"Nara? Are you done?" You heard your mom knocked on your door. You pulled it open and saw her about to open the door. "Oh, you're done?" She asked. Your mom has black wavy hair, soft loose curls fall down from her temple giving her a sophisticated look. She looks young for a woman who has three children, well, she's pregnant with your third sibling. But your mom was the most beautiful woman you have ever known. You got her facial structures, while your hair was from your father.

"Yes mum." You replied with a smile. "How do I look?" You asked and pulled the door open even wider for her to have a better look.

"I love it." She said, cupping your cheeks and kissed your forehead. Your heart felt warmth as you feel your mother's love tonight, and everyday of your life.

"You should get in the car now, your friends must be waiting for you at the restaurant." She said as she pulled you out from your room; tapping your butt as you got on your way out.

"We'll follow in a minute, I have to get your dad fix his necktie." She said as you were already on your way to the door. You chuckled, thinking that they have been married for 17 years and yet your father never knew how to wear his necktie properly. Maybe, that's the only way he could make a romantic gesture to your mom.

You were in the front porch standing, waiting for the rest of your family to go out of the house. You happened to gaze upon the open velvet sky, and noticed that dark clouds hovering around the full moon. Some say, having a full moon in your birthday is bad luck while others it was good luck. It could be bad luck if it's going to rain, because your shoes might get soaked in mud, or good luck because you will have the best night of your life. Either ways, you just hoped everything will be alright tonight.

"Sorry to keep you waiting Sweetie." You heard your father's voice came from behind. He was carrying your little brother Mingyu. He placed a hand on your shoulder, gently giving it a soft tap before he made his way towards the small van. You followed and took Mingyu with you at the back seat while your father settled in the driver's seat. Then both of your eyes shifted towards your mom who was locking the doors of the house.

"Everything's settled?" She asked as she slid the car door open. She got in the front seat, which was just beside your father's.

"Yep, I'm so excited mum." You chirped, as you held Mingyu on the waist.

"You'll be more excited when we get there." She chuckled, pinching your chin.

"Is everybody alright then? We have to get on our way before the rain pour." Your father said, looking at the rearview mirror to check up on you and Mingyu.
