I ran into the hospital room, my palms were sweating, my hands were shaking and my heart was racing. Tears poured down my face at the sight of my parents, their body's were covered in bruises and blood. I tried to hold back my cries of horror.

"Mum? Dad?" I whispered as I walked over to my mums bed.

No response

"Mum?"

She lay there frozen. Her eyes glued to the wall. Her expression was firm but emotionless. She blinked ever so often but besides that she didn't move a muscle.

"Mum? Please" I begged. More tears came streaming out. I got up in a hurry and ran over to my dads bed on the other side of the room. I looked at his face, it was covered in bruises and his hair looked like it had been set on fire.

"Dad? Daddy?" I almost screamed at him.

No response

I felt like my life was burning before me. He lay there with the same firm expression my mum had. My eyes stung from crying. I stepped back from his bed and looked back over at my mother. She had the same burnt hair and bruises but she also had massive scratch marks across her arms. Blood stained the white hospital sheets.

"WHO DID THIS TO YOU?" I screamed at them both.

No response

I fell to the ground in tears. I screamed as loud as I possibly could. Letting the my flesh soak up my tears. After about 2 hours of crying and screaming on the floor, I got up slowly and walked over to my mums bed.

"Mum?" I whispered.

No response

"Mum. Speak to me" I said a bit louder this time. I looked into her glass like eyes.

"Say something anything?"

I was about to walk over to my dads side when I heard the quietest voice call out to me.

"Alice?"

I looked back at her. My eyes suddenly filled with hope.

"Yes mum" I said whilst trying to hold back more tears From falling.

"Darling, there's something I need to tell you" she coughed.

"Yes. Anything" I said. I hated to see my mum struggling to talk, but I needed to hear what she has to say.

"I'm not your mot-" she choked on her own words in a fit of coughs. Her breathing quicken and her face looked pained.

"Your not my what?" I asked in panic.

"Mother"

"What do you mean? How?" I questioned. More tears spilling from my eyes. My knees wobbled, threatening to give way beneath me.

"Don't let her get you, like she got us" she gasps for breathe.

"What? Who? Who got you?" I shout.
My mother coughs and blood comes pouring out. I scream for help as loud as I can.

"HELP! SOMEONE HELP" I squeal. My heart beat quickens as several nurses and doctors enter the room. Everything is a blur.

"Mom, don't leave me"

"please mum. Promise you won't leave me?" I plead. She looks at me with her dead glassy eyes.

"Stay beautiful" she whispers before nurses start pushes past me. One grabs my arm and starts pulling me towards the door. "I'm sorry, but your not aloud in here while we do operations" I squirm in her grip, trying to break free. She has one last look at me before throwing me out of the room and slamming the door in my face. Operations? I feel my face burn up in anger, but it soon disappears and is replaced with sadness. I slide down the door with my head in my hands and let the tears fall. What if I never see them again? What did she mean by "don't let her get you"? I stare at the floor and cry and cry. Soon enough I'm sitting in a puddle of my own tears.

"AHHHHHHHHHH"

I hear a scream from inside the room. I bang my fists on the door in rage. "LET ME IN" I scream over and over again, until my knuckles are covered in blood. What if my mum dies? More tears stream out. She didn't promise she wouldn't leave me. But I will always remember those last 2 words she told me and those last 2 words were....

"Stay beautiful"
