After The Thunder

POV: BARRY

I started my day like any other- at the lab. I walked in, said hi to Caitlyn and Cisco, and went to find Iris.

"Hey Iris!" She looked up at me with those beautiful brown eyes I have loved since I was 10.

"Hi Barry, what's up?" She smiled.

"Oh, you know, working," she stared at me, she knew about my superhuman speed and my crime fighting side job.

"Barry!" I turned around. It was my adoptive dad, Joe.

"Hey Joe!" I hugged him. "Good to see you,"

"Barry I have big news. Come with me." We waved at Iris, who waved back at me and her father, and followed Joe out the door.

"Joe, why are we at the orphanage?"

"You'll see," was all he replied.

We walked into the gorgeous entryway of the Central City Orphanage. There were about twenty five children there, including a girl who looked around thirteen or fourteen. She had intelligence in her stormy gray eyes, and wavy dirty blonde hair. Her face was strikingly familiar, but I had no idea how I'd seen her before.

"Mrs. Olden," Joe said to the woman at the front desk. I'd definitely seen her before. She was rotund, but not obese. Aging, but not old. "We would like to see Hannah."

This was a little bit shocking to me- I thought I was the only Allen in town, but when the girl came up to me, I recognized that we had the same face, but in a different sort of way. She was the girl from before, and she was amazing.

"So, Hannah," I said, "how old are you," if she really was my sister, she'd have to be fourteen, that's how long ago my mother died, fourteen years. I was ten.

"Fourteen," she said.

"Hmm," Joe looked at me. "She is your sister, you know." He said after a while.

"I know. We can't just leave her here, what are we going to do, Joe?"

"You're going to become her legal guardian."

"So is this where you live?" Hannah asked when we came to a stop in front of Joe's house.

"Sort of," I replied, "this is Joe's house."

"But you live here?"

"Yep."

"Cool." She smiled.

We walked in and I took her stuff up to the room we used as a guest room. That will be the room Hannah will have.

Beep beep beep

"It's Caitlyn," I said. Joe nodded.

"I have to leave," I said to Hannah. "Stay here with Joe,"

I walked out the door, and sped my way to S.T.A.R Labs.
