"MA'AM, YOU HAVE to move know" my firefighter friend says.
"ok, will this by any chance kill me?" I question as I am helped
into the truck of the rescue transport.
"I am being reassuring when I say not with us, but there is always a chance of death in massive fires" he says.
"Ok" I answer.
"Yes, we have got Ivy" he yells into a walkie-talkie.
We drive along for about 10 minutes in the heat.
"Why was I so important," I question, "there were so many others and I get back to safety?"
"You knew a man called Robin didn't you?" He says.
"Yeah. I met him on my 50th" I answer coolly. (Just because I regretted my decisions doesn't mean I didn't socialise!)
"He be said to keep you safe, he was my father" he says grimly.
But at that moment, before I could ask what he meant by 'was', a flame hits the truck and smashes the wind screen while cars crash into one another in a big line up. I'm in the back and one car smashes the back in and it hits me.
I'm losing a lot of blood. I can't breath, I smile happily as I sdie. "Please let this be my time" I whisper.
Noises are going around and I Robin's son scream. More sirens people getting out. Some go around to get to safety. I don't know what real anymore. But u am dying. And I am proud to be dying in such a dignified manner.
I'm old an my time has finally come.
