Chapter 2: Road trip

I woke up, stretching my arms out dramatically. I yawned. Another boring day in the life of of Elsa Win- wait...oh my lord I forgot today was the day Lew would pick me up! I quickly threw my covers off and jumped out of bed.

I started the shower and closed the door behind me. I stripped immediately. I got into the shower as the warm water relaxed me. I lathered myself in the comforting soap. Soon I finished in about 15 minutes.

I put on my outfit. It was a white crop top with dark blue shinny jeans and black leather boots. I put on some white little snowflake earrings to finish the look. I put on my makeup and did my hair into a high ponytail.

It was already 6:57 so I decided to head out. Before leaving I grabbed my suitcase. I quietly tiptoed into Anna's bedroom. I lightly kissed her forehead and left a little note on her desk that she could read later.

I rushed downstairs and headed out the front door. Calenbrewray high is not that faraway so I just walked. As I approached the school memories came flooding back. I had left my school 2 weeks ago. It was senior year, my last year.

I remember those nice times I had with my best friend Ariel. Her cool red hair, her crazy attitude. Yeah...I miss Ariel. We still stay in touch but not as much as we used to. Ariel just...moved on...

I sat on a bench waiting for Lew. Birds flew from tree to tree. I admired the baby blue skies...ahhhh...summer. I looked at my phone. I barely realized I got a text message from Anna.

Anna💜: nooooo! U should have woke me!😑
I quickly texted back.
Elsa❄️: sorry Anna!😁 u just looked so tired
Anna💜: 😂😂it's ok just facetime me later k?
Elsa❄️: sure ill do it when I get on the bus
Anna💜: bye! Love ya bunches💕💕
Elsa❄️: bye! Ily❤️💕

Anna stopped responding so I put my phone back in my pocket. I noticed a white car pull up near me. I guy with light brown hair, and a black leather jacket got out of the car. He looked like he was a year older than me. Probably 20.

"Hey Elsa!" The guy waved at me. Why is he waving. Do I know this guy? "Excuse me?...do I know you?" I asked suspiciously. He smirked at me, "Of course you know me! It's Lew remember."

Wait that's Lew? He looks surprising young and ho-I mean nice. How could this be Lew? His eyes were a nice shade of brown. Hazel.

"You're Lew? Sorry I was expecting a guy in his 40's or something." Lew chuckled, "Elsa, ever heard of puberty? Way to rub it in. My voice is a little deep though gotta admit it." He smiled jokingly, I giggled.

Lew seemed like a pretty cool guy. I was happy to be working for him. Lew lead me to his car. I sat in the passenger seat. Soon Lew started driving and we were on our way. I stared outside the window. Goodbye Nebraska. Goodbye home town. See you in a month.

"So Elsa tell me about yourself." Lew explained tapping his finger on the steering wheel. I looked at him, "Well I'm 19 years old and I live in Nebraska...obviously." Lew chuckled.

"I have one sister, Anna, and both of my parents died in a plane crash. When that happened we were supposed to go live with our grandma but she was to sick so she couldn't take care of us. We were sent to a orphanage. Me and Anna didn't really like it there so we decided to escape. My grandma recovered from her illness so we went to live with her. Soon me and Anna moved out and got our own apartment. We went to school like it had been...expect without having a real family. But I still had Anna. I graduated from high school 2 weeks ago and yeah...that's pretty much it."

Lew faced me. "Wow...that's-" I cut him off, "A heck of a journey..." I looked out the window. It was already night. Bright stars filled the dark sky. I sighed deeply. I felt Lew glance at me. I looked at him but as I did he looked forward.

Lew turned on the radio and it played a slow song. I found it so comforting. I looked up at the stars again before finally giving in. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep...
