Chapter 9: One Month Anniversary Part Two

Ed's POV

(Flashback)

Chuckling I took her hand in mine and lead her down her road and off on our own little adventure. I have to admit I had put a lot of planning into this date and I was practically bursting with excitement. Every step we took I could feel the butterflies in my stomach growing. I squeezed her hand tightly in mine and smiled down at her. I could see her craning her neck with every step we took to find out where we were going. I quickly sent the text that I had prepared on my phone which read "Nearly here, thanks mate for keeping an eye on the stuff, catch up soon"

We walked through the iron gates of the park, I increased the pace slightly as I wanted to get to the destination before it got too dark as that would ruin part of the surprise.

I could see the tartan mat spread out at the top of the hill and covered her eyes before she could too. "Ed.. what are you..." She began to say but trusting me she continued to walk up the hill. Carefully I sat down and she did too, still with my hands over her eyes. I shifted round slightly so that we were in the perfect spot before I took my hands away from her face.

She opened her eyes and he jaw dropped slightly as she took in our surroundings. We were sitting at the top of a hill in Greenwich Park and you could see the busy lights of London clearly with the setting sun behind. The deep orange and reds danced off the windows of the buildings and cast a warm glow over the area. I had also earlier hung solar lights in the tree so as the sun began to fade little fairy lights began to switch on in the willow tree.

"Ed I... This is so beautiful. Thank you" I gazed into her eyes and the fairy lights twinkled back at me, reflected in her eyes. I slowly leant down and kissed her lightly on the lips "Anything for you Annie Hale"

I had prepared a picnic as well and after filling ourselves with food and a glass of champagne, we were laying on the mat looking up at the stars now shining above us. I held her hand in mine and I could feel the pulse of her heart. I propped myself up on one elbow and stroked her cheeks gently. As I did this I could feel her heart rate increase. She must have felt it to as her cheeks blushed a pale rose. I sat up slightly and she did the same.

I moved so that I was sitting behind her slightly and placed little kisses trailing down her neck. She was so distracted by my kisses that it took her a while to notice the small necklace now hanging from her neck. She looked at the delicate heart locket with a little diamond in the middle and then twisted so she was facing me, and said "It's beautiful, thank you Ed"  

"I have one more surprise for you, turn back around" She turned back around so that her back was too me and rested her head on my crossed legs. From behind me I grabbed my guitar.

I sung the last lines of the song to her "But these three words. I have to say to you, my baby blue, you know it's true. I love you" I could see the tears in her eyes and I leant down and kissed her perfect forehead and whispered in her ear "I love you. I know it sounds crazy because we have only know each other a short time but I have never been so certain about anything before and all I know Annie Hale is that I love you"

She sat up and looked me directly in the eye and said "Edward Christopher Sheeran I love you too" She then pulled a little box out of her bag and gave it to me. I opened it and inside was a leather necklace with a silver pendant hanging from it. She put it on for me and then sat back down in front of me. "Thank you" I said and then kissed her, first very softly but then with increasing pressure. She wrapped her fingers through my hair and I pulled her closer with my hands on her hips. We broke apart and rested our foreheads together.

We lay back down , gazing up at the stars making up shapes and laughing and talking. Everything felt so right, everything was as it was meant to be.

(End of flashback)

"You alright in there Ed?" a voice called through the cubical door. 

"Yeah, I'm... fine" The lie tumbled out of my mouth as I tucked the necklace beneath my t-shirt and went back into the restaurant

Annie's POV

Exhausted from all the crying I stayed curled up in a ball on my bed, waiting for Robbie to return. I saw that lying next to me on the pillow was my necklace, still around my neck for I had never taken off. I pried it open with my nails and stared down at the picture of me kissing Ed's cheek whilst he has the biggest smile on his face. I gripped the locket tightly in my hand I closed my eyes and soon drifted off into sleep.
