Ever since I was young, reading just shut out all of my anger and frustration and let me escape living within The Ruins. Life was hard living where the U.S used to be. What used to be a promise country, was nothing but piles and heaps of rubble. I for one was sick of being stuck and imprisoned in the border between The Ruins and the ValleyTop, (where the rest of the world lives). Lately my tribe has been growing weak. What used to be the great Cobra's, has turned into almost nothing. We have merely 80 survivors, have of which our under 17 and the prophecy is about to come true.
30 years ago, my father and mother, the creators of the Cobra's received a prophecy. After many years, you shall fall and nobody will be their to pick you up. When you fall another will rise and take your place and kill you while they stand. Only one will survive, one will kill, and one will deceive you. My parents did everything they could to keep themselves safe. So safe that they refused to hurt anyone, afraid to fracture a finger, or sprain a knee. So safe that they killed themselves trying.
