My name is Elisa. I was born into a race of people who you know as werewolves, we prefer to go as hazers since the seperation between our two forms is so hazy. We follow the laws of the Everlore, the Everlore accounts for every eventuality so hazers are required to learn every part and be able to test on it during Senior year. Males are required to learn an extra chapter on how to treat their mates. I have known my mate my whole life, I didn't always know Evan was my mate. Before my 18th birthday we were best friends. I did everything with him, we hung out so much that it was inevitable for me to fall in love with him. I spent 5 years before my birthday trailing after him like a puppy dog, imagine my joy when I discovered that Evan was the one who caused the already hazy barrier between me and my inner wolf to lighten further. That night was the best of my life and it was only one year till the worst popped the happy bubble in my chest. My worst night began with a bad hair day........

After an hour of trying to straighten out the wild mop-top that my hair had now become I headed out to Evan's car still playing with the lock of hair that curled onto my cheek,"Does my hair look official kola?" I ask, face perfectly straight as I used my goofy synonym for ok.

Ethan chuckled and threw his arm around my shoulders," You look great babe!" he whispered in my ear then gave me a soft kiss on the cheek.

"Thanks babe." I whisper back and this time the soft kiss landed on Evan's soft lips and for a moment we lost ourselves in our bond. I separated my lips reluctantly from his," We gotta get to work." I sigh heavily.

"Yeah, I know." he scratch the back of his head revealing his toned arms," Sweetheart you're drooling." he whispers and uses his thumb to wipe the dribble of drool hanging off the corner of my lip. I duck my head in shame with the heat crawling into my face," Don't hide yourself from me!" he sounds almost angry but I know his anger is not directed at me but at my lack of confidence.

The rest of my day was even worse. I was put on probation, I had coffee spilled on my new white dress, and I broke the heel on my cute black boots. Needless to say when I arrived outside to meet Evan I was sorely in need of some cheer which him being my mate and knight in shining armor provided. The funny thing is I was actually feeling better when it happened, a speeding truck was racing toward us on the driver side. I had one second to register the on-coming vehicle as Evan glanced at me and shouted, “ I love you!”

“No Evan!” I scream as the door buckles as Evan, my sweet Evan, apologized over and over telling me it was his fault and that he should have paid more attention to the road. The worst part, I think was when the paramedics arrived and my Evan told them to focus on saving me before they even touched him. They told him that we had only moments till the car started burning and mere minutes after that till it exploded but Evan wouldn't have it. As soon as I was at a safe distance I pushed them away and told them to go help him. I was unable to do anything as they dragged my hurt unconscious mate across the pavement just as the car burst into flames.
