"Hey! Cooper! Shake my hand man!"

I turn my head, searching for the source of the voice amidst the crowd of people coming to enjoy the festivities of the carnival. My eyes fall upon my friend, Cal, who holds his hand out to me. I spin the rest of my body around and grab hold of his wrist, turning his palm upward and exposing the hidden device.

"Nice try buddy," I tell him, "but you're gonna have to do better than that."

He laughs, removing the device and tossing it over his shoulder, "Well it was worth a shot anyway, and I'll get you back eventually."

"Get me back for what?" I ask, staring at him questioningly.

"Well I never got my revenge after you locked me in the girls bathroom in the 8th grade," he replies.

I chuckle quietly, memories flooding into my mind. That had been almost 3 years ago now. How time flies, how things change...

I'm about to reply when I feel a tingle down my arm. A woman brushes past and lets out a small yelp before turning around to face me.

"Excuse you!" she exclaims.

"Sorry," I reply, shrugging, "must have been static electricity or something."

She frowns at me before turning around and walking away, mumbling something about rude teenagers.

"Geez, what was that woman's problem?" I say, returning my gaze to Cal, who incidentally wasn't there any more.

"Cal?" I say, over the bustling crowd.

Damn, I think to myself, the little bugger's gone. Looking around, I see Chase, another good friend, off in the distance. I set off, squeezing through the masses of people swarming the path and finally making my way to Chase, who recognises me instantly.

"Coop?" He says, "Hey man, it's been a while! Whatcha been up to?"

I smile at my friend, "You know it's been two days, right?"

"Yeah, I know." He says, smiling back. "So? What have you done with your weekend?"

"Honestly, not much." I reply, "What about you?"

He begins to speak but stops, a worried look on his face.

"Is your arm supposed to be arcing electricity?" He asks.

"Man what are you talki-" I hold my arm up to see sparks covering my arm and what looks like tiny bolts of lightning flashing everywhere.

"What the hell is that dude," Chase exclaims, "your arm looks like a freaking tesla coil!"

I open my mouth and close it again, too stunned and confused to say anything. I start shaking my arm, hoping that whatever this is that it would stop. My fingers curl up into a fist and an arc of pure electricity shoots to where my arm is pointing, blackening the ground where it hits. I start to freak out, but just as I do the light fizzles out and the sparks disappear.

Breathing heavily, my head starts swimming and I partly collapse onto a stall counter. The vendor, assisted by Chase, helps me to my feet and gives me a cup of water. After making sure I wasn't going to fall over onto his stall again he sent me off with Chase, who returned me safely to my home.

Disorientated, I stumble upstairs and into my room then jump straight into bed, falling asleep before my head even hit the pillow.

After a nice 15 hour sleep, I finally stir awake. I blink at my ceiling as my vision clears before slowly rolling over to the edge of my bed. Looking over at my desk, I see my clock reads 5:42 AM.

I let out a small groan before easing my way out of bed entirely, planting my feet on the soft carpet. Still out of my head, I just stand there for a few seconds staring at the wall before realising and continuing out the door and down the hall. As I walk down the stairs I hear a noticeably loud noise coming from the kitchen, so heart thumping, I work my way to the doorway and peek around the corner.

"Again? Really?" I exclaim, stunned...
