Sophia's Point of View**
I try not to be a clingy girlfriend but when you just left your boyfriend to his drunk dad who beats him constantly and he can't.. won't fight back, its a little worrying. I had to stop myself from sending a ton of messages and calling him a bunch. He just sent me a simple goodnight text not telling me anything about how it went with his dad which gives me a really bad feeling. I just shake it off trying not to worry and go to bed.
Isaac's Point of View**
It was really hard ignoring Sophia last night but I didn't want her worrying about me which ignoring her probably made it worse.. oh well. So now I was at school and I haven't seen her yet. I wouldn't say I was avoiding her.. ok yes, I was we usually meet before school but I really didn't want her to see my black eye and cut on my face from the piece of glass.
It was now second block, Chemistry, and the only class me and Sophia had together. I was about to enter the classroom when I heard her softly call out my name. I stopped walking not turning around as she came around to the front of me and pecked me on the lips "I feel like you've been avoi-" she said smiling then stopped, her face turning cold once she saw my face.
"Wha- what happened?" She muttered, but I knew she was putting the pieces together and already knew so I didn't bother saying anything. Her thumb gently slid across my cheek right below where my eye was bruised her eyes switching from the cut on my cheek, to my black eye, to directly in my eyes. I could tell she was about to cry the way her eyes scrunched up a little bit.
Sophia's Point of View**
I could feel the tears brimming in my eyes as I stared at the broken boy in front of me. I loved him so much and hated seeing him hurt physically and emotionally, he loves his dad too much to tell the police about him beating him, and he made me promise I wouldn't say anything since he was the only family he had left. I heard the minute bell ring and a couple of students rushing into their classroom before they were late. "Ahem. Mr. Lahey, Ms. Pritchit class is about to start, you do know I WILL mark you absent if you are even one second late to my class right?" said our Chemistry teacher Mr. Martin.. let's just say he is one of the meaner teachers at our school.
I dropped my hands from Isaacs's face and turned to head into the classroom. I took my seat near the back corner of the classroom as Isaac took his in the very front. We WERE lab partners but got switched because we might have started a small fire while we were messing around.
I soon tuned out thinking about every possible way Isaac's dad could have reacted to do such damage to his son's face. Deep in thought doodling on my notes I didn't even hear Mr. Martin call my name and ask me a question until I looked up, noticing the silence and everybody was turned around with their eyes were on me, including Isaac.
"Wha-what sorry?" I stuttered, as the class started snickering, some rolling their eyes, and others giving me sympathetic looks. "Erica, please tell Ms. Pritchit what is going on," I looked at the scared girl who was bullied constantly because we wasn't what most people would call "pretty" from her knotted hair, make-up less face, and baggy clothes. She pointed to a section in her book "re-read," she stuttered blinking hard not wanting to make eye contact or even look at my face.
I felt bad for Erica I have heard she had seizures a lot and kids at this school were constantly making fun of her for it. Its not like she can help it.
I glanced at Isaac before looking down at the book and reading the section Erica pointed at.
