After Breaking Dawn

Chapter 2

Edward's P. O. V.

Boy, this was fantastic. My daughter's in love with a werewolf. A WEREWOLF for crying out loud. Our sworn enemies. But I couldn't break her heart.

"Bella, love? I'm going to have Renesmee ride with Jacob. I need to speak with you." I whispered to her. I didn't want Ness to overhear.

She gave me a strange look.

"Okay?" I chuckled. She made it sound more like a question.

Halfway through the ride she gave up waiting and just asked me.

"Edward if you don't tell me what's going on, I'm going to explode." She threatened.

I sighed. I'd been trying to drag it out as long as possible. Oh well. Here goes.

I took a deep breath. "Nessie's in love with Jacob" I said. I looked at her face and winced.

Bella's P. O. V.

Edward took a deep breath. He wasn't very good at keeping things from me. I could be VERY persuasive.

"Nessie's in love with Jacob" he blurted.

I was stunned. I mean, we knew this was going to happen it was only a matter of time, but still. She's my baby girl. I couldn't help it. I burst into dry sobs.

I could tell Edward wasn't expecting my reaction because he swerved off the road and parked the car.

"Bella! Whats the matter, love?" He asked, concern written all over his perfect features.

"I'm....losing....my.....baby girl!" I wailed. I don't know what was the matter with me I wasn't usually like this.

Edward pulled me into an embrace. I was immediately calmed just by his touch.

"Bella, she'll always be our baby girl. No matter what." He soothed. "Now come on or well be late. Are you ok?"

"Yes." I replied taking a deep breath. I knew I had to be ok. The happiness of my daughter and my best friend depended on it.
