Chapter One
'Oh my gosh. Hunger is so perfect. But he's so out of my league. He's so popular and I'm just...average.' I thought to myself during math. I looked to my left to find Hunter watching me text Gracyn.
"Averi, can you give me the answer to this problem?" Mr. Cooper asked me. I was startled. I had no idea. Right then I felt my phone vibrate. It was Jay.
'487' the text said.
'Thank you' I replied.
"Umm..It would be 487," I answered.
"Correct. Good job. I'm amazed that you got it since you and Gracyn haven't been paying attention at all today." Mr. Cooper said with a smirk. "But I'll let it slide since you both have A's in this class."
"Yes, sir," We said in sync.
"Okay,class, since it's almost Christmas break, and I'm a really lazy teacher, you guys can do this worksheet or socialize." Mr. Cooper said.
Everybody got up and started talking to their friends. I walked over to Gracyn and Jay.
"Hey Gray. Hi Jay." I said with a smile.
"Hey Avers." Gracyn said.
"Hey." Jay replied.
"Thank you so much Jay. I totally blanked. I was..erm..thinking..and texting Gracyn." I said.
"Any time. And yeah..I noticed you two texting. I also noticed Hunter checking you out." Jay answered.
"Oh okay." I started to blush but turned away.
I saw somebody walking towards me and realized it was Hunter. That's when Jay and Gracyn walked away.
"Hi, Averi" he said as he gently put his hand on my shoulder. He handed me a piece of paper with what appeared to be his number!
'Text me' was scribbled below his phone number.
