Louis grimaced at his pale legs, as he took off his pajama pants to change in to his jeans. Tiny red spots scattered across his thighs and calves, and random ugly bruises finished the imperfect package. Not wanting to look at the injuries that reminded him that he wasn't healthy and normal, Louis pulled his jeans on staring to the the wall opposite of him.
It was Sunday. It was December and only few weeks until Christmas and Louis's birthday. He didn't really know what he would do for his birthday, he's never really done a lot. It kind of sucked that he born 24th December, when it was all about Christmas. And Louis would be getting Christmas presents on 25th day anyway, so there was really no point in celebrating the day of his birth.
Louis looked at himself for a moment from his full body mirror, taking in the tired, pale boy. He sighed tiredly and grabbed a black t-shirt that was hanging on his chair's backrest. Changing into it quickly, Louis took his phone and exited his room to get a glass of juice and something to eat.
" You know what I have noticed, Louis?" Louis's mom stated merrily as he heard Louis's door open and saw him dragging himself towards the kitchen.
" Hm?" Louis vaguely gave the simple answer, or rather a hum, followed with a loud yawn.
" You haven't stayed home any school day for the past month at least." She answered, with a bright tone that could probably melt snow. Louis sighed tiredly as he opened the heavy fridge door. He grabbed the orange juice carton and took a glass out of the cupboard near him.
"It doesn't mean I'm healing, mom. I really don't want you to get yours hopes crashed down if I get worse again." He said carefully, not wanting to upset his mother but as he said before, not wanting to get her hopes up too much.
"But it does!" His mother argued, of course. "You know Louis, a little bit of positive attitude wouldn't do bad."
" I won't believe i am healing until the doctors tell me that I'm cancer free." Louis stated steadily, as he put his two toasts on the toaster.
Louis's mom sighed, not bothering to fight against his son's natural attitude.
Louis waited patiently for the toaster to shoot out his bread, and finally after a while a scratchy sound announced that his wait was over.
He decided to go with simple butter with the toast, and satisfied with his breakfast he walked to the table and began eating.
"You going to see some friend today?" His mom asked after a little while of silence, only sounds being Louis munching away his food and Jay flipping the pages of her magazine.
"Yeah Harry is probably coming over today." Louis smiled faintly at the mention of his name. Harry had been coming over a lot. It had been over an month since Louis and Harry had filled a task together, and occasionally Louis wondered if Harry even aimed to fill them all anymore. But that didn't have to mean that Harry and Louis couldn't have been together for the past month.Oh no. They hung out every weekend, sometimes even on both Saturday and Sunday, and also on weekdays if Louis had time.
"Yeah?" Louis's mom and as Louis lifted his gaze up to meet her, she was already smiling wide at him and looking at Louis with a twinkle in her eye, like she knew something. " I've also noticed that you've seemed to get better since you met Harry..."
Louis didn't know how to answer that, because it was true but it was also so weird. He couldn't find an explanation for his well being.
"Louis, you know that I want to know if you have boyfriend..." Louis's mom hinted slowly.
Louis almost choked on his bread, and after coughing for good few minutes with his mother looking at him worriedly, Louis finally got the words out.
