The amazing aroma of chocolate chip waffles made me happy. Before I could pick up my fork, I looked down at my wrist, gasped, and pulled it under the table. Luke noticed and looked up from his phone. He said, "Something wrong?" I said, "Um, nope. This is just, ummm, my favourite syrup." He gave me an odd look and replied, "Aunt Jemima?" I said, "Yep!"

Luke: Well how would you know? You haven't even taken a bite out of your waffles.

Nicole: Ummm, I can just smell it.

Luke: Well okay. Then eat up.

Nicole: Ummm... On second thoughts, can I eat in the living room?

Luke: Why would you wanna do that?

Nicole: Uh, my favourite show's gonna come on soon.

Luke: What show is that?

Nicole: What's with all the questions?

Luke: Why aren't you giving me answers?

Nicole: Why are you so suspicious?

Luke: I'm not.

Nicole: Yes, you are.

Luke: No, I'm not.

Nicole: Yes, you are.

Luke: No, I'm not.

Nicole: Calum, can I go eat in the living room?

Calum: Sure, Nicole.

I put my right hand behind my back and grabbed my plate with my left as I stood up and went to go inside the living room.

Luke's POV

When Nicole left, I instantly turned to Calum and said, "Dude! You can't just let her do everything she wants just because she's nice about it." He replied, "What are you talking about? All she wanted to do what eat her breakfast in the living room. Is there a problem with that?"

Luke: Yes! Since when has she had a favourite show and since when has it come on in the mornings?

Calum: Her favourite show is Full House, dude.

Luke: But how often do you see her watching that? Come to think of it, how often do you see her watching TV at all?

Calum: You need to chill.

Luke: Well excuse me if I never thought Nicole and Carson would be in the same room again EVER.

Calum: Whoa. Back up. What the hell does Carson have to do with her eating in the living room?

Luke: When Nicole was going to get her needle. I still don't trust that guy and I never will. Why was he there?

Calum: 'Cause he was going to get a mandatory needle, Luke!

Luke: No, I mean why did he even choose to stay in the city? He should've left when he had the chance.

Calum: And he still has the chance. He is completely done with Nicole. It's over, Luke. You can stop worrying.

Luke: I can never stop worrying about Nicole!

Calum: That's not what I meant. I mean you can stop worry about Carson. Yeah, sure, none of us will ever trust him but we don't need to jump every time that kid blinks. And still, how does Carson have to do with Nicole eating in the living room?

Luke: Nicole just seemed pretty suspicious when she wanted to go into the living room with her breakfast.

Calum: No, you did, Luke. You were the one asking her all the weird questions.

Luke: Since when is asking what her favourite show is a weird question?

Calum: Oh, please. You asked more questions that just what her favourite show was.

Nicole's POV

How could this happen? Louis actually bruised my wrist. There was a hand mark and everything. When I was about to grab my fork in the kitchen, my sleeve had moved up a bit and I saw the mark. Good thing I know so I can be extra careful. Looks like I'll have to wear a few long sleeve shirts until this bruise goes away. And I'll actually have a reason to because -- wait for it -- ... IT'S WINTER!
