Is Modern Culture ruining childhood ?

21st century- the age of technological advancements ,expected of positivity and growth . The time when the idea of globalization took it's practical form and the developments gave birth to a global culture , currently present in all parts of the world .

This modern culture notifies on what are the trends all over the world , what the whole world is eating , liking , doing . This culture dominates us , killing everyone's sense of thinking and feeding us on specific information . The modern culture has dominated all areas of human life , in a matter of years and the after effects are visible .

Similarly , this modern culture dominates that one part of a human life , when a person is weak , feeble and innocent . When a person needs the most guidance and needs to be taught repeatedly . That part of life which forms the basis of our habits and practical life ; Childhood . Children are said to the flowers of paradise found on earth , always beaming and smiling about something . Now what happens when this joyful part of life is consumed by the vicious modern culture . Let's take a look .

The year is 2015 , in which everyone have devices in their hands , and children of this era especially toddlers , have opened their eyes to these gadgets . Gadgets like ipad , smart-phones , ipods etc given to our younger ones , are a part of our technological culture , and has slowly started poisoning our children's mind . Being engaged for hours on these gadgets , children tend to isolate themselves which leads to behavioral issues in them . Where scientists are still arguing if video games induce violent behavior in children , these gadgets that the children are hooked on are known to cause some serious health problems for them too . Instead of playing outside , with other kids , children are addicted to virtual partners such as talking tom etc . Games like hide and seek have been replaced with subway surfers ,where as running with other children has been replaced with temple run in these innocent toddler's lives.

Moving on , let's focus on children belonging to the older age group . Those who know more on how things work and are near to puberty . ( 9 -12 years ) . This age group has witnessed the most adverse effect of this modern culture . The children of this age group belong to a fragile mind set , whatever you show them they are readily going to adapt it . With the modern culture , which is extremely explicit in nature , in which women are being objectified and men are being projected as the playboys , the message that our children absorb is the same as being depicted . With social websites like facebook , instagram and the world wide web , these children are capable of searching for anything they want , easily and instantly .

Keeping the internet aside , the culture being represented in our movies , for example Indian movies , is another major cause of our moral deterioration . If we are feeding our children such vulgar content , then how can our society be morally sound . If Sunny Leone is dancing half naked , with our little girls dancing to her songs , mimicking her actions , this sort of exposure is considered "normal " , mostly followed with encouragement from our sides on such deeds . ( Irrespective of the fact that Sunny Leone has been associated with the pornographic industry . )

Moreover , the worst factor of this modern culture is that it is uncontrollable and available every where . If you stop a child from watching a particular thing , they will have access to it through smart-phones or tabs . Despite the fact that the knowledge our children tend to have about technological devices , is remarkable , yet it serves as a major disadvantage , as they have a better understanding about their use and operation . You can not limit this modern culture . This modern culture tends to promote more of sex , open relationships , disrespect and racism .

Although , humans have developed , yet in this race , they have completely demolished the grounds of decency , respect and moral values , and the future generations tend to lack alot of these values . And without such moral values , Humans can be ahead but never be successful .
