Wake up.
I can hear his pacifying voice by my bedside as he narrates what has happened during the day. I don't know what day it is; i don't even know where I am or how long I've been here. His voice slowly begins to fade.
Please don't stop talking. I try to say but as usual, nothing happens. His voice is reduced to loud whispers, then he goes quiet.
I do not want him to stop talking. I do not know why, but there's something soothing and familiar about his voice.
"It's been hard."
His voice is barely audible that I have to try and guess what he has just said.
"Its been so, damn hard Soph, without you around."
Who's Soph?
Wake up ....come on, wake up! I yell to my brain but I remain swallowed up in this endless void."Ever since the accident, my life has been a mess," He whispers.
"I can't find my way around the house, around work-"Silence.
"and the baby Soph, I don't know what to do"
What accident? What baby?
"I need you to hold on, my baby girl, you can't leave me, not you too.."Daddy!
He breaks into an outburst of tears and he squeezes my hand very tightly ...too tight. I scowl in my sleep.
"Please come back to us, Rosie and I, we need you"
I'll hang on daddy. I'll continue fighting, for you and whoever Rosie is. I say more to myself than him.
Then he becomes quiet, his soft, gentle hands holding mine.
I'm going to come back to you daddy, and escape from this horrid place.
The room is dead quiet except for the annoying beep sound I've been hearing since ..forever.
Stupid machines.
I'll be updating the novel weekly so please add it to your libraries ...comments are welcome☺
