Aman pulled over the car to the side when we reached my apartment building. "I guess that is it," I said, biting my lower lip.
He looked at my lips in anticipation. From the look in his eyes it was clear that he wanted to kiss me.
"What's your plan for today?" he asked.
"No plans as for now." I answered with a shrug.
"How about a movie later today, huh? We can watch Bajrangi Bhaijaan?"
"I don't know!" I said, nodding.
"Why can't you be nice to me?" Aman asked.
I turned to him. "You're one to talk," I replied rolling my eyes and smiling to him.
"Hey, I could be nice only if I tried, " he said.
"Hmm." I tapped my chin. "Say something nice then."
"You're most beautiful girl I have ever seen, "he said, smiling. He looked sincere when he said that. I blushed.
"I like this nice thing already." I leaned in and planted a kiss on his cheeks. "Thanks for the ride to the airport and back."
I stepped out of the car and marched towards the lift. He watched me leave with his palm over the left cheek I just kissed on. "Can I call you sometime?" he shouted behind my back.
I turned and smiled but I didn't reply and kept walking away. I could hear his car engine roaring after I turned the corner to approach the lift.

Well, it's not because I was a cruel, evil, or manipulative person that I was leading Aman on. It was part of my plan. The plan was simple. Flirt with him, lead him on, make him believe you are into him, and when he is hooked and make his interest more explicit, just act like you have no idea what was going on.
Everyone has probably led someone on accidentally at some point in their lives. When I was in college, there was a guy in one of my classes who would always flirt with me. Even though I wasn't interested in him, I flirted back because I enjoyed it. One day, he asked me out, and I politely turned him down. The next time I saw him in class, he did not flirt with me. I was disappointed, and even tried to flirt with him a little bit, but he just had a look on his face like, "What are you doing? You said you weren't interested in me." I realized that I was trying to keep his interest in me, even though I wasn't interested in dating him, because the attention felt good. But, that wasn't fair to him.
This time it was purely intentional. I was leading Aman on purpose. And I must admit I was enjoying it. Truth be told I always enjoyed flirting. I am a flirt. Flirting always picked me up, just like a strong cup of coffee, it helped me to get a little energy boost. If you've ever been bored at a party until someone started flirting with you, then you know what I'm talking about.
When I overheard Malvika sobbing I somehow felt responsible for it, and decided to teach Aman a lesson, by making him taste his own medicine, because to me it is the only way he could understand what Malvika is going through. Also, it seemed to be the only possible way to bring them together.

Next day I was working in office when the ringing of my phone caught my attention. I picked my phone and checked out the caller. It was Aman. A smile popped up across my face. Flirting time!
"Hey," I said receiving the call. "What a coincidence? I was thinking about you when you called."
"Really?" he sounded surprised.
