Ava's POV
It was my sixteenth birthday today. My parents we're going all out with my celebration party for tonight. I was the oldest out of my siblinga so today was important day for my parents. I've grown in the best family I could have ever asked for. Sure between having two sisters there was bound to be some fighting here and there, but nothing to extreme. Although my sister's could be annoying, I loved them with all my heart as well as my parents. I was the luckiest girl in the world to have such a wonderful and loving family.
I hopped out of bed and cleaned myself up for breakfast. I had time to spare before I began preparing for the party, it wouldn't start until six. In the meantime I brushed my teeth and ran downstiars to join my family at the dinner table. You could say I lived in a big house. It was three stories, with seven different bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and a humongous pool and garden. Anyways, I made my way around the table giving everyone a good morning kiss on the cheek before sitting myself down. Two of our housemaids began serving breakfast, a nice egg omelet filled with bacon, cheese, tomatoes, olives, and mushrooms and served with a fresh glass of orange juice. It was a very delcious breakfast. During the breakfast, my mother mother said that she would be helping me fix myself up after breakfast. You might think that because we had a good fortune of money in the family we would have a big extravagant and luxurious party, but on the other hand it would be more like a smal gathering. I wanted to keep things simple and to be honest I didn't have many friends to invite. I was a shy and quiet girl that normally kept to herself. Anywho, I was excited to share the tonight's expierence with my family and my closest friends. I would enjoy and treat myself special today, at least for today I could be the girl that everyone stared at.
After breakfast, I took a shower and began getting myself ready. My mother came in a few minutes later and helped me with my hair. She helped blow dry it and then pin my hair up in an elegant updo and curl small sections of my hair. Then she aided me in my make up. I had never worn make up before so I wasn't completely sure how to out it on or how to even use it. When I turned around and faced the mirror I coud barely recongnize myself. I was a whole different person. My mom tried going towards a more natural look since she didn't want to cake my face with so much makeup. Once everything else was done, it was time to put on the dress. It was a nice short elegant red dress with sequins surronding the waist, it brought out my ebony hair and my pale complexion. For once I could actually describe myself as looking pretty. I wore flats instead of heels, since it was most proabable that I would trip after trying to make it down the first step of the stairs.
The party had begun about 15 minutes ago and it was time for my way down and join the party. As my father helped me on my way down, I was welcomed with stares of awe from my closest friends Stephanie, John, Adam, Taylor, and family. I was engulfed in hugs after hugs after hugs.
"You look hot boo," my best friend Stephanie complimented.
"You're not looking to bad yourself," I winked at her.
With that the party began and I was having the time of my life. I was dancing with my friends as a giant group to multiple pop songs. My feet began aching after several hours of dancing, but I was having too much fun to stop. Around 9ish we all went to the kitchen table where a big pearl colored cake sat right in the center of the table. We sang happy birthday then I blew out the candles with whatever breath I had left. I tried with all my might to keep the tears of joy from slipping out, but a couple revealed themselves, gratefully no one took notice of them. I then opened my presents one by one. I recieved alot of beautiful and silky tops from my family, and silly jewlery from my friends, but the gift that really touched my heart, was the present from my mother. She had handed me a black box containing a beautiful gold bracelet inside. I didn't waste a second in asking my mother to place it on me.
"This necklace has been passed down from generation to generation to the oldest daughter of the family and now we're passing it down to you," I was filled with appreciation for a gift such as this one.
'Thank you so much mom, dad, you don't know how much this means to me and I promise to take great care of it." I reassured my parents that nothing would happen to it and thanked them once again.
After having the bracelet on for a couple of minutes, I began having this weird sensation in the pit of my stomach. It couldn't be the bracelet causing some kind of funky reaction. Maybe I was just going crazy but I decided to ignore it. After an hour I started again and worse this time. Maybe I had eaten something to have a bad effect on me. I hurried my way to the bathroom since it was only getting worse and worse. I locked the door and faced the mirror. There was nothing odd about my appearance I looked the same since the start of the party, except for a few hairs that had fallen out of place. What was this feeling? What was going on with me? My skin began feeling hotter and hotter and suddenly I felt like I couldn't breathe anymore. I was than shocked when a flame had shot out of my right hand towards the vase filled with lilies. What the hell? The flames only began to grow and grow as under flame shot from my hand increasing the fire, I couldn't control myself. What was going on with me? I ran out of the bathroom as fast as I could as the flames increased. I made my way out the back door without anyone seeing me and ran into the forest that surronded my home.
I turned my back and saw my house being engulfed from the flames, no one was outside. What had I done, did I just kill my family. Out of fear I kept running and running deeper and deeper into the forest not looking back not looking back and facing my guilt. I couldn't control the tears that rushed out. I killed my family. I KILLED MY FAMILY. Oh god, what did I do? What was happening me? I continued running and running for some reason I couldn't stop myself. I didn't care where I went I just had to get away from here, far, far away from here. I was lost, but I didn't mind. My dress was ripped and I probably looked like a complete mess, but that wasn't importat right now. All that mattered was that I find someone who could help my family and explain to me what was going on with me. My thoughts came to sudden halt though once I felt a sharp pain on the back of my body and everything went completely blank.
