Marcos P.O.V.

I was late. Again. My first day of my junior year in college and I was late. My backpack was slung lazily over my shoulder and my left shoe was untied. My hair was still wet and I hadn't had time to put on a long sleeve shirt. I had set my alarm for seven, and I woke up at almost eight.

Naturally, I'm the only one who gets called out. My professor, Mr. Ellwood, sighs shortly and glares up at me.

"Mr. Santiago, please consider joining us on time tomorrow," he said, before returning to the board. I smiled and nodded at him before taking a seat in the third to the back row, next to a girl I didn't know. I rested my backpack on the floor and dug out my laptop, and glanced over at her, and froze.

She had long, thick dark hair and was looking over at me and smiled slightly. She had tattoos down her arm and bright red lipstick. She was beautiful. I blinked when she looked back at me questioningly, probably wondering if I was going t keep staring, and turned my head to my laptop.

The rest of the class was a blur. I kept thinking of her, watching her out of the corner of my eye... call me creepy, but she was too breathtaking to look away from. She was perfect... It wasn't just that her looks drew me in, but her genuine sweetness that I saw from her. She drew perfect little doodles of flowers in the margins of her notebook and wrote down everything. Even what she didn't have to. She had small quotes handwritten all over, and they were all sweet things.

I almost didn't notice when we were dismissed. I hurriedly shut my laptop and stuffed it into my backpack, and stood up. She was standing, too. Damn, she had a beautiful body...

"Excuse me," she said, jolting me from my thoughts. I almost tripped over myself, trying to get out of the row so she could get by.

"I'm sorry," I said, putting both straps on my shoulders. "Just a little distracted, thinking about this class," I said, smiling in what I hoped was a charming way, and not a creepy way. She smiled up at me and I felt relief shoot through me.

"I get it. This class is harder than most," she said, fiddling with a ring on her finger. I wasn't sure if that meant she was annoyed or nervous... Either way, I wanted to change that.

"Yeah, and we just started it today. I wonder what Mr. Ellwood will think of us when we're halfway through the year," I said, hoping to lighten the mood. She smirks, her lips curling up perfectly. She was perfect...

"Well, good luck studying, and I'll see you tomorrow," she said. She smiled and gave me a small wave before walking up the stairs and out of the room. I waved after her, staring after.

"Bye..." I mumbled to myself. She disappeared out and I shook my head to myself. I must be crazy, I thought to myself. There was no way she would go for me. She was too perfect...

Linnea P.O.V.

Linnea sighed dropping her bag on my apartment floor, and collapsed right away on the futon. She groaned and ran a hand through her hair, coming through it. She was not ready for college. College reminded her of things she did not want to remember. Such as Luke.

Speaking of whom, she had to get a tattoo over his name. She had been stupid and gotten his name tattooed over her heart on the one years anniversary of them dating. Linnea wanted to erase everything about him from her life. She slowly stood back up and got dressed for her job at Jimmy John's. She'd applied for multiple places, mostly involving food. Her mother had told her she should be a professional chef or baker some day. Linnea had considered it, but she wanted to do something more with her life. So she'd decided to be a writer.

She wanted more information on the human mind, so she'd decided to take a psychology class, where she met the guy who'd come in late. He seemed very nice. She'd been sort of distracted by his tattoos, and she'd peeked at them every once in a while. He wasn't too bad looking, either. When she noticed that he wanted to make small talk with her, and saw the look in his eyes toward her, she wanted to leave. She did not want to be in a relationship.

Luke had ruined that desire for her.
