November, 2021
I parked my car outside of the small shop, but didn't get out yet. Once again I pulled out the papers, full of information on Mr. A. Parente. Black Casket Tattoo Shop. I looked up and confirmed that I was in the right place.
Stepping out of my car hesitantly, is hid the file in the glovebox. When I opened the door a bell rang above me and the girl at the desk's head snapped up.
"Hi! My name's Mia! How can I help you?"
"Umm.... Is A. Parente here?" I stuttered.
She nodded. "Yes, he's working on a tattoo right now, but he should be done shortly." She directed me to the waiting room chairs where I sat down.
After about ten minutes, I heard footsteps and saw a young guy walk out with a fresh tattoo on his shoulder. The man behind him was fairly tall, had brown hair, light blue eyes, and a bit of scruff on his face.
Yep. It was him. Ever since I went on a search for him, I knew it was him, because of his name and his workplace, but I didn't want to get my hopes up. Low and behold, Angelo Parente.
×Angelo's POV×
When I made it out into the lobby I looked to see who would be my next canvas. There was a girl who was definitely not old enough for a tattoo. She was kind of tall and had an edgy look: black and blue hair, dark makeup and clothes, snake bites.... And my eyes. They weren't just similar, they were my eyes. Same shape, color, everything. The resemblance was uncanny.
She looked nervous immediately when she made eye contact with me. I smiled and walked over to her while Mia took care of my other client's payment.
"Hey there, I'm Angelo. How can I help you?"
She bit her lip and was silent for a few seconds before she finally looked me in the eyes. "Hi, dad."
What? No! She can't be here! She was never supposed to know about me! I looked at her once again and realized that her face was exactly like... his. Oh shit, it's her.
"Mia? Can you cancel all of my appointments for today?"
"What?" She protested, "you can't just expect your clients to be happy with that.
I turned to her and said, as calmly as I possibly could in this situation. "I don't care about what the clients want right now. Something came up, now cancel my appointments."
She nodded. I walked over to the girl, my daughter and grabbed her hand, pulling her up.
"Come on, lets go somewhere else and talk." We went outside and I opened the door of my car for her; she got inside. I drove to the nearest coffee shop where we ordered some coffees and sat at one of the small tables. All of this was just an awkward silence, both if us fretting about the conversation that was soon to happen. Me more than her, for I was most likely going to have to admit the most demeaning part of my life.
"So..." I began nervously. "What do you want to know?"
