"He told me... that he liked you."
"Lee, what are you saying?"
"It's true, Ace. Sam likes you. Why can't you accept it?" she asked, looking on the ground. "You should be happy. Your crush has a crush on you,"
"That's not it, Lee. What if he was just kidding? What if he accidentally sent it to you? What if there was another Casey-named person in his life? What if---"
"Okay, let's assume all the negatives. A joke, a prank, wrong send. My point is, a guy can't possibly send a thing like that to a wrong person, because he'll think about it carefully before he sends it. A joke? Well yeah, Sam's a tricky guy. But you never know what happens to him when he has a crush."
"Of course I do. He never takes it seriously."
"Well what if he did?"
"That's impossible. You must've been dreaming," I said. I got her lunchbox and brought out some crackers.
"I wasn't dreaming, it was real."
"Mm-hm," I nodded.
We remained quiet for a while. Lee stopped from insisting that it was true. We all know Sam. He will never have a crush on me. Probably he's just kidding, because he's that type of guy. Plus, we haven't communicated in a week. How come he's gonna have a crush on me?
My phone was vibrating. It was my mother.
"I-I gotta go. Mom's there," I told Lee.
"Oh okay. Bye. Love you."
"Can you go online later?"
"Uhm. It depends, if I can finish all of my assignments,"
"Ugghh. Reponsible feels," I said, rolling my eyes.
Lee smiled. She looks so nice when she does that.
---
What to do? I'm in my room right now, and I have finished all our homeworks. I can't sleep at 8:00, because it's too early. I'm used to sleeping at 10. Whenever I sleep before 10, it feels like I forgot to do something.
Anyways..Off to what Lee said...
Is that true?
My friend just said it.
Do you have a crush on me too?He has got to be kidding Lee. I lie down on my bed, staring at my peach-colored ceiling. It's been a while since I haven't stared at this. I remember the day, when we first moved here.. The day before school started. The day before there was a guy named Sam who entered my life.
Back then, I was so carefree. No problems. But ---
*one notification from Lee*
I checked my phone. Lee was online! And it was a school night! That rarely happens, believe me.Lee: Haaai.
That's how we say hi to each other on chat. It's kinda cute.
Me: Hello! I thought you weren't gonna go online.
Lee: Nah, realized there was only ONE homework.
Me: Really? Well, I haven't done mine, hahaha.
Lee: Hahah.
Me: So uhm.. About a few hours ago, the thing you said?
Lee: Yeah?
Me: That's impossible.
Lee: Why?
Me: Because we haven't talked for a week.. I don't know why, but ever since this week started, he has been snobbing me.
Lee: Uhm.. Maybe because you're his crush?
Me: Sam's never like that.
Lee: People change, Ace. People change.A/N: Srsly. Where is their conversation heading?
