Brian's POV
"I have never heard her sing," I nodded. "She has a voice."
"We agree to disagree. But were you ever meant for me?" Emma sang. "I don't know, I don't know." I was proud of Emma. Adam Levine turned his chair around. "I will not apologize, for packing up my life and leaving. And I can't waste any more time. Waiting for you to call me, baby." Emma started dancing. "That's what you wanted, that's what you wanted. That's what you wanted, that's what you're gonna get. That's what you wanted, that's what you wanted." Leena was smiling as Shakira turned her chair around. "That's what you wanted, that's what you're gonna get."
"She's amazing," I smiled as I picked up Jack. "That's your sister, Jack."
"There's no turning back here, baby, you're the one who did this to me. Give me one good reason that I shouldn't run from ya," Emma sang. She smiled looked at Shakira and Adam, just as Usher turned his chair. "There's no time to second guess. Oh, baby, you should hold your breath. This is when I save myself." Leena and I were happy when Blake turned his chair around. "I'm better off without you..."
The song ended. "She did it," I smiled.
"Wow," Adam smiled. "That was an amazing performance."
"Thank you," Emma smiled.
"What's your name, sweetie?" Usher asked.
"Emma O'Conner," she smiles.
"O'Conner?" Blake asked. "As in the FBI's Most Wanted O'Conners?"
"That was over turned, Mr. Shelton," Emma nodded.
"Please, first names," Blake smiled.
"Okay," Emma nodded.
"Let's bring your family out here," Adam nodded. Leena and I were handed a mic and we walked onstage with Emma. I was carrying Jack. "Wow, so you are the one who were wanted."
"That was over turned, sir," I nodded. "Agent Hobbs offered us pardons if we help him catch a bad guy."
"And one of those were tearing up LA?" Usher asked.
"No, that was the brother of the bad guy we caught before that," Leena nodded. "He followed us to LA."
"Alright, let's get down to business," Shakira smiled. "Okay, Emma. Was that an original song?"
"No," Emma nodded. "My mom released that song on her YouTube channel. I learned it." I smiled. "You said any song so I found her channel and learned it. The choreography too with my own little twist because parts of the video didn't have dancing."
"How were you able to move around with a child?" Usher asked. "Or two?"
"Family," I replied.
"Who would you like to be your coach?" Blake asked.
"That's a really hard question," Emma replied as she looked at me and Leena. "I don't know."
"It's not our choice, Emma," I smiled. I saw Dom in the audience. "Maybe your Uncle Dom might know what to say?"
"Go with your heart," Dom shouted.
"Let's bring your uncle onstage with you," Usher nodded. Dom got onstage. "You're one big dude."
"It scares off the guys who wanted to get with my sister," Dom replied. "But it didn't scare off Buster."
"Bro, you needed me," I smiled.
"Emma, you wanna go with your heart," Dom smiled. He lowered Emma's mic so the judges wouldn't hear him. "I know how you have stars in your eyes when you look at Adam. If you want Adam to be your coach, that's perfectly fine." I looked at Adam. "But it's not perfectly fine to date him."
"I know that," Emma smiled. She brought her mic up to her mouth. "I'm going to go with my gut, I mean, my heart, and say Adam Levine."
"Alright," Adam smiled. He walked up to us and gave Emma a hug. "We are going to have a lot of fun. So, how does today sound in an hour?"
"Where?" I asked.
"She's a minor so your house would be fine," Adam nodded. "The whole week until the day of rehearsals which is the day before we air."
"That's perfectly fine," Leena nodded. We walked backstage. "You did it, Emma." She hugged her as we put the mics back. "I knew you had it in you."
"Yeah, but now I'm starving," Emma nodded. "Can we go for food?"
"Celebrate!" Jack exclaimed.
"Actually Tej and Rome are at home cooking on the grill," Dom smiled. "Let's go home."
Leena and I got in the van with Jack in the backseat. "Leena," I sighed as I drove. She looked at me. "The day when we were getting Ramsey from the bus, why did that guy say you again, because it just seems like he knew you."
"I never him but gotta go with it," Leena nodded. "I couldn't jeopardize the mission." We got home and went straight to the backyard. "Okay, so, Adam Levine will be here in an hour."
"Does that mean I gotta make more food?" Rome asked.
"No, he's not eating," I nodded. "Or that I know of." I saw a guy walking to the back. "I'll be right back." I put Jack in a chair to sit down. "Yes, can I help you?"
"Yes, I need to speak with Aleena Toretto," he replied. "I'm Detective Nick Amaro."
"Hey Leena," I called.
"Yes, babe?" Leena asked as she picked up Jack as he ran from her. "Let's go see what Daddy needs." Leena walked up to us. "What's up?"
"Uhm, he needs to talk to you?" I questioned.
"Anything you need to say, you can say in front of me and my husband," Leena smiled.
"I find an old friend and she doesn't recognize me," he nodded.
"Brian, can you give us a few minutes?" Leena asked.
"Yeah, I'll see if Dom needs help or maybe Tej so he don't burn the food," I nodded.
"Check Emma, because she doesn't need to drink soda," Leena smiled.
"Alright, hun," I nodded. I walked back to the group. "Yo, Dom. Your sister close with any detectives?"
"Hardly, other than you," Dom replied.
"I'm just asking," I nodded. "Just wondering."
