Chapter fifty-six

Chapter 56

     More months pass. Christmas rolled around Evelina grew up to fifteen years old. The last month was her last. Now she grows up normally. I went Christmas shopping with Joanna her stomach looks bigger then usual the doctor says one baby. But it was a human doctor. He was more concern how come he couldn’t hear a heartbeat. Couldn’t understand why she had white skin. Couldn’t understand why it was cold.

     I can tell she was having more than one baby. She doubts it and just keeps saying the blood she drinks have a lot of fat in it it's making her look big. I highly doubt it Evelina look at the clothes and ask if she can have it for Christmas. Eve didn’t ask for much. I got Connor something special sometimes when he is in wolf form his teeth would ache and hurt. As if he just wants to pull them out kinda pain. So I went all over town to find a chew toy and had his name on it. I know it seems like a weird gift to get someone but we anit dealing with no ordinary human.

    The boys were home putting the tree up and the Christmas orients. They were quite it was an awkward silence they put all the decorations up talk only when they did ask for a certain ortiment.

"You've been very quiet" said Connor.

Joseph chuckled "I’m thinking of my baby...who is gonna be your half brother or sister" said Joseph.

"And half werewolf and vampire" said Connor.

Joseph smiled and put more ortiments "how do you feel with a half brother or sister?" said Joseph.

Connor sighed and said "weird" Joseph laugh.

"I can almost hear Ty's voice...Well done my son....he would say that" Connor said.

   Joseph smiled "I remember my dad...he was a tough made me get up when the sun rose and go to work" said Joseph.

"What is your story?" ask Connor he sat on the couch Joseph leaned on the wall "I’m two hundred years old...the year was 1775....The young man and son of a plantation owner. My mother was a home mom...and which you people call today nurses...The Declaration of Independence was just signed. I didn’t go for politics...My father was most interested...he would drive me crazy with them" said Joseph.

"I would get into fights with him about it..but I still loved him...I was interested in myths and legends....of the old world my mind cross vampires...but my mother slammed a bible in my face and told me it was evil magic" Connor chuckled "yeah I know" said Joseph.

     "My 17th birthday rolled around my father and I went hunting it was a cold morning I was tired, hungry and mostly wasn't in the mood to hunt....We were out for hours...when..." Joseph trailed off with a slight discomfort on his face. Pain. 

"You don't have too talk about it..." Connor said. 

" My last breathe was drawing when a girl with black shiny hair, carmel milky skin and eyes green as the trees came to save me". 

"Josephina", Connor smiled. 

 "I woke up in a warm bed the next night but I felt weak still I saw Josephina she was my angel" he said.

Josephina approach the bed and stroked Joseph's cold head. "Oh Joseph.....I can give you two choices.....you can just die now....or I can give you a new life...do you wanna live?" Josephina whispered. 

   Joseph weakly said "yes" Josephina gently bit his arm and drank his blood and realising the venom.

Joseph was in so much pain he screamed loudly. "Did you know what you were becoming?" ask Connor "I didn’t care I was afraid of death I would do anything to keep it away" said Joseph.

"For the next three days I suffered with intense burning in my throat and in my body....I was becoming what I feared most....death" he said.

Connor was speechless his breath escape him "what of your father?" ask Connor.

Joseph put his head down "his body was never found...and my mother left town the day of my birthday...I never saw her again....I have only one picture of them and it's fading" said Joseph.

Connor saw a tear roll down Joseph's eye. "I thought vampires couldn’t cry" said Connor.

    "Some do some don't....You may think I’m heartless because I drink the blood of the living....I do what I can do to survive I’m not heartless I have a heart it just stop beating two hundred years ago" said Joseph Connor had a lump in his throat.

Joanna and I came home and place the gifts on the floor.

"Hello! Connor! I’m home!" I shouted. Connor got up and hugged me before I took my coat off.

"Daddy!!" said Evy.

"Hey bugga boo!!!" he said hugging Evy.

"What’s wrong?" I ask "oh nothing glad you guys are home" said Connor he look so good in our high school sweat shirt.

Joanna sat on the couch Joseph kiss her "you look beautiful" he said Joanna smiled and kiss her again.
