Mia and Jessania played Xbox, shouting at each other frequently.
Now and then Mia would ask if Bianda was okay. She'd reply with a "mmmm" and "yeah" now and then.
She could hear Leo coming up to the house, but she didn't acknowledge it.
"Branca, what's up? And don't say nothing because I haven't seen you like this since M -" Jessania was starting to get agitated with Bianda's mopy mood.
Bianda grimaced and Jessania got the hint that she shouldn't say Maurishio's name.
She did smile at Jessania's little nickname for her.
Jessania had learnt Portuguese, so she often said weird and wonderful things in Portuguese. Branca meant "white woman" which Bianda laughed at all the time she heard it.
Right now? Not so much.
"It's not that... well it's just that... nothing." Bianda tried to find an explanation but she couldn't. She wanted to tell them about Maurishio but that would make her seem weak. She needed to get over her little depression over a Leo. It was true; Leo's and Taurus' weren't compatible with each other.
Bianda sighed and sat on the floor and picked up a controller and started playing with Jessania and Mia.
Leo burst in the door then and they all smiled at him.
"Hey, girls do you want something?" He asked, looking at Bianda in particular.
"Cause I desperately need to spend some money off my credit card." He said, holding his shiny white card that glowed like gold to the girls.
"How much are we looking at?" Bianda asked, turning her body to Leo.
"Well I forgot about it until I ran out of cash in my wallet. I don't buy stuff that much and there's about $75 000 + in my savings account and since I got a promotion, I'm going to be earning a whole lot more now. So, you up for it?" He asked.
"Hell yeah! Let's go!" Bianda said excitedly. Nothing like retail therapy to cheer a girl up, right?
She hopped up and hugged him tightly around his shoulders. He hugged her tightly around her shoulders in response.
She took his card.
"I'll get you something you love. I promise!" Bianda said.
"You don't need to get anything." Leo said.
"Whatever I'm still getting you something, so suck it up princess." Bianda said.
"Fine." He said with a sigh.
"Good we're on the same page then!" She said with a cute giggle.
"You can get anything you like, even if it's something you won't wear soon!" Leo said with a smile.
Bianda nodded eagerly and rushed out the door with Mia and Jessania on her heels.
They hopped in Bianda's Ferrari Spyder and went to town.
"Let's stop here first." Bianda said. It was one of the stores where they had beautiful clothes... but at outrageous prices!
"Look around, we got all night!" She said excitedly.
They spent at least an hour looking at clothes. In the end, Bianda had taken a few dresses and shoes. She took a black strapless dress with dark glitter sprinkled over it, a cream white dress dropping just under her knees with light blue trimmings at the bottom. She also took a blood red dress that clung to her frame perfectly and a bright pink glitterati dress that had black tiger stripes. She took nude heels and 5 inch satin black stilettos along with sky blue All Stars and black sneakers.
"Why did you buy so much black stuff?" Mia asked. Black was okay, but she wouldn't buy so many clothes that were black.
"Black's my favourite colour! Don't judge." Bianda replied.
Mia bought non - girly clothes.
She took all the colours of All Stars and a few pairs of sneakers. She bought some new jeans and lots of Dope Couture hoodies and shirts.
Jessania bought little things, only buying new flat shoes and a pencil skirt.
"Great! Let's go." Bianda said, grabbing as much bags as she could carry.
Mia and Jessania nodded eagerly and grabbed the rest of their bags.
They passed by a jewellery store, not really interested.
"Wait! I have to get Leo something here!" Bianda said quickly running back to the jewellery store.
"We should get stuff for JD and Suhaileo too, huh?" Jessania asked Mia.
Mia wasn't really sure about the Suhaileo part, but she agreed.
Bianda slid the piece of jewellery in one of her bags when Mia and Jessania walked in.
Mia took a dog tag for Suhaileo that read
Loved you yesterday, loved you still. Always have, always will.
And Jessania got the same, just it said:
Eternally yours, you are mine and I am yours. We never say goodbye, just goodnight.
"Hey what did you get for Leo?" Jessania asked.
"You'll have to see. What if you run and tell him?" Bianda replied.
Jessania was about to protest, but she knew Bianda had made up her mind.
"Let's go stock up on the popcorn, shall we?" She suggested.
They went to the supermarket and grabbed a trolley. They threw in packets of porpcorn until the trolley was full.
Just then, the lights in the store went out.
Guys... that wasn't a power failure. Bianda thought. She knew power failures. All the lights went out at the same time. The lights had gone out one by one, almost as if someone deliberatly turned them off.
Mia was on guard immediatly.
Even though she wasn't in her wolf form, her senses were still pretty sharp.
She sniffed at the air and caught a whiff of a few different scents.
Raw meat, water, salt. But somewhere in the distance, Mia could smell a different scent. Not of food, but of... a person!
Maybe if Mia could do it quietly, she could turn into her wolf form.
Since they were standing under tile, Mia's nails would give her away. So as a precaution, she found some cotton and quickly wrapped it around the tips of her fingers.
Here we go. Let's hope this works... Mia thought to herself.
She shut her eyes tightly and focused on keeping quiet and still as she transformed. It was quiet around her and Mia had successfully transformed into her wolf form quietly. Great.
She sniffed around and the person hadn't moved from his or her position. That means they hadn't heard Mia.
She tilted her ears this way and that, making sure that there was only 1 enemy and not multiple ones that could attack her flanks.
Nothing.
Good. It seemed to stay that way.
We got your back, Mia. Bianda thought. Jessania agreed in their mind conversation.
Mia looked back. Both Jessania and Bianda had transformed into their wolf forms too.
Good. Here's what you guys need to do. Bianda, you take the left of the supermarket and go silently. Jessania you do the same only you take the right of the supermarket. I'll take the center and we'll corner the person. You know where he is, right? Mia asked.
Yip. Jessania and Bianda said at the same time.
Let's do it. Mia thought.
Jessania and Bianda did as they were commanded and Mia took the center.
When Mia's stragedy paid off, Mia and Jessania changed back into their human forms.
Bianda stayed in her wolf form, teeth barred.
"Who are you and why were you trying to corner us?!" Mia asked sternly.
Bianda was in her human form and 1 light from the street shined on the man.
"Oh no... it's him... again! C'mon guys we gotta get outta here!" Bianda screamed at Jessania and Mia.
Mia and Jessania knew that if this guy had scared Bianda, then he must have been something they had never seen before.
So they did as they were told and ran after Bianda.
She kicked the supermarket's glass doors and ran to the car.
Mia and Jessania were close behind.
"Who was that?" Mia asked breathlessly.
"I don't know him but I saw him before. In the forest. The part where we're not supposed to go." Bianda replied, her face pale.
"So what is he then?" Jessania asked.
"A dark angel." Bianda said and she didn't go into details.
Mia and Jessania understood why Bianda had been so scared.
Dark angels weren't affected by a bite, scratch or claw from a wolf or even a human. The only things that could destroy them were their own kind. Either light angels or dark angels.
In the supernatural world, they were feared because they were invincible to werewolves, fairies, vampires, hybrids, shape - shifters and many more supernatural kinds.
Not only that, they had reflexes like lightning and their strikes were like a force of bricks.
They could be your greatest ally or your worst enemy.
When Mia, Jessania and Bianda reached the house, they grabbed their bags quickly and ran inside.
Leo was playing a car game with Tyrone when the girls burst in.
"Hey did you get what you -" He broke off when he saw the girls' pale faces.
"What happened?" He asked.
"We were in the supermarket and there was a... a..." Mia couldn't finish.
"Dark angel." Bianda said from the window.
"If I hadn't known he was a dark angel..." She trailed off.
Leo put his hands on Bianda's shoulders.
"You okay?" He asked, concerned.
"I'm fine. Here." She handed him the necklace she had gotten him.
It had a thin iron chain and at the bottom was an iron locket.
It was shiny around it and had a tiny lock on it.
"The shiny part has encrusted diamonds, moonstones and sunstones." Bianda said.
Leo opened the locket and inside was the face of a lion and on the other side what looked like pure moonstone mixed into a sunstone.
Like the Yin and Yang symbol.
"See, I'm the Moon because I'm affected by the Moon and you're the Sun... I don't know why," Bianda said with a weak and shaky laugh.
"And there's a lion because Leo means lion." She said with a smile.
He slid it over his head and it laid perfectly in the middle of his plained chest.
Bianda wondered what Leo looked like without a shirt.
She was so lost in thought that she stumbled into Leo.
"Oh I'm sorry! Forgive my thoughtlessness," Bianda quickly apologized.
"I'd... better go." She said and ran out of the door, blushing a bright pink.
Although she wasn't sure where she would go, Bianda just walked in a random direction to clear her head and the embarrasment she had just faced.
How could she be so careless?
There was a strong wind. Bianda wondered if she should go back and get a jacket.
She shivered but kept walking.
A strong arm wrapped around Bianda's waist and yanked her back.
She yelped in pain as she fell to the floor with extreme force.
Bianda quickly turned on her back and put a hand in front of her face in case that's where the person aimed next.
Something hit the side of Bianda's head and the next thing she saw was blackness.
