Chapter 36 ~ New Love

Bianda and Aiden sat on the sofa, holding hands. Mia and Hayes did the same as well as Jessania and JD and even Sara and Tyrone did.
Actually, everyone in the room was holding hands with someone!
Leo came in.
"Hey guys!What's up?"
"Oh nothing much..." Bianda said.
"I need to tell you guys something." Aiden said abruptly and he clutched Bianda's hand tighter.
"Bianda, I saw a dark angel in your thoughts. That dark angel... is me. I'm the dark angel. It's the reason I didn't hurt any of you at the supermarket." He said with extreme difficulty. He knew how horribly terrified she feared dark angels. They all did.
Bianda scooted slightly away from Aiden.
There was fear in her eyes.
"No... please don't be scared. Please!" He said to her and he got down on his knees.
"I beg of you!" He said and took her hands.
"But what if you hurt us?..." Bianda said, looking away.
Everyone else was silent, absorbing the news. They had never expected this.
"I... need some... air." She said and got up. She opened the door but looked back at Aiden before she left.
He took a deep breath and looked at everyone else.
Mia had a look of accusation, Jessania a look of understanding. Sara a look of confusion. Tyrone a look of surprise and Rodriguez a look of defence.
"How could you not tell us? We go around, all smiling thinking we know you. That you're our friend!" Rodriguez went on ranting until Jessania stopped him.
"Roddy, calm down will you? I understand his point. We wouldn't have even given him a chance if he told us straight up. He and Bianda wouldn't have been together if he told us up front. Just lay off it will ya?" She said and got so worked up she started talking in Portuguese.
Rodriguez soon cut her off.
"No I won't. He could've killed you guys. Could've killed Mia!" He shouted as if Aiden wasn't even in the room.
He merely kept quiet with his head down, letting them shout about him.
"I ought to kill him myself!" Rodriguez said and was in front of Aiden in a second.
"No!" There was a loud scream from the doorway and Rodriguez's eyes widened slightly as he held his fist in the air, ready to start a fight.
Everyone looked up and saw Bianda standing there, a look of horror on her face.
"I don't want to hurt you Rod... but I will if I have to." She said and looked up from Aiden and looked at Rodriguez.
"You would choose him over me?" He said and jealousy was thick in his voice.
When she didn't answer he walked to the door.
"Of course you would." He said and opened the door in a swift motion and stormed out.
Mia rushed after him.
"Rodriguez wait!" She said and caught the door before it slammed.
Bianda walked over to Chris and he smiled.
"What would you do in my place?" She asked him.
He put a hand on her shoulder.
"I'd trust my gut." He said and smiled a smile of understanding.
She nodded and smiled a thanks.

Mia stood behind Rodriguez as he walked away.
"If you tell me what's wrong with Aiden then I can help you!" She shouted at him as he walked away.
He stopped and clenched his fists.
"it isn't Aiden. It's you." He said and looked at her from the side of his eye and turned his head.
"What do you mean it's me?" She asked and her brows furrowed.
He came back and stood in front of Mia.
"I mean... I love you. From the day I met you till today." He said and her eyes widened.
Rodriguez came closer and hugged Mia tightly. She didn't know if she should pull away or hug him back.
She patted him on the back and hugged him back but in a friendly way.
There was a slight rustle of leaves. Very quiet but enough for Mia to hear.
She immediately pulled away and looked around. She didn't see anything and she couldn't feel anyone else being there.
She went to where the sound had come from and sniffed the air to hopefully pick up a scent.
Nothing but small animals. Maybe it was a squirrel or something.
She walked back to Rodriguez. "Look, Rodriguez... I love you, but I'm not in love with you. I love you like Bianda, nothing more. I've got Hayes and you have to accept that." She said and patted him on the shoulder.
When he said nothing, she walked back to the house.
She came in and Bianda hopped up.
"What did he say?" She asked and wrapped her arms around her stomach.
Since Hayes was in the room, she avoided the exact words.
"He just said that..."
Damn, what can I say that won't get me or Rod in trouble? Mia thought.
Just say it like this Mia and then make up something. Bianda thought.
Mia forgot that Bianda had telepathy skills.
I won't tell either... Aiden joined in.
He told me he loves me. Mia said and crossed her arms.
"Well what is it?" Sara asked impatiently.
"He said he didn't want to talk about it." Mia lied smoothly.
She bit her lip and walked upstairs. She couldn't lie to Hayes. It was practically impossible.
"I wonder where he is." Bianda said aloud.
"Yeah. Okay. I'll be there soon. " Mia said as she came down the stairs. She ended the call on her phone and slipped it into her pocket.
Everyone waited for an explanation but she merely walked out of the door without a word.
Everyone was silent. What could they say?
