The palm trees and sunshine were the main things that made me smile when I got to the SC airport. Up in North Dakota, you don't see that too often. As I stood strategically in a sunspot, loving the feeling of warmth on my skin, I waited patiently for my grandparents. They drove a cute little bug. The mint colored one, like I see all the time on the highway. They even managed to put eyelashes on the headlights! So cute~
Speak of the devil. Through the crowd of families hugging and greeting each other, and handsome men running around in suits, I saw a familiar bug with my grandfather smiling through the driver window.
I smile back at him, giving back a gentle wave. Maybe I did miss them a lot. With my pearly smile still on my face, I jogged over to the car and got in.
" Hey, Snuggle Bug!! " Gramps greeted, laughing. " Hello dear. " Grams nodded too, smiling softly at me. " Hi, you two! Goodness, I haven't seen either of you guys since eigth grade. " It's true. In fact, I still remember the last day I saw them. It was grandparent's day, and they have been visiting. We had lunch together before they had to make the journey back to their home. The memory faded, and I was brought back into reality. I've noticed my grandmother's face of sympathy. " Ooh~ I'm sorry Abbie. We just are getting to be old geezers. Can't really do much anymore. " I giggle, shaking my head reassuringly. After a few more words, we soon drove away from the bustling airport and straight for their home.
