The musky smell of cigarette smoke and alcohol hung in the midnight air. Loud laughing and talking echoed off the empty streets and buildings. The dim streetlight illuminated four friends walking down the road. Oblivious to the fact they they were tonights prey to the most vicious predator.

I knew that tonight was a bad idea, thought Vicky as she recalled how many shots her and her friends had taken. Their ride had ditched them at the club, and here they were walking home, highly intoxicated.
Vicky, sighed as she staggered along the road. She carried her black pumps in one hand while the other was gripping on Jacks bicep for balance.
"Tooth or dare, Alec" slurred Tiffany from behind her.
Alec took a long drag from his cigarette then replied loudly,
"Dare"
Tiffany giggled, "I... I dares you to... to go kiss that garbage can"
Vicky turned and watch as Alec's face broke into a goofy grin. He threw his cigarette on the ground and stomped on it while staggering over to the garbage can across the dark street.
Vicky's eyes squinted trying to get a better look at Alec as he disappeared into the darkness.
Ten minutes passed before they all began to worry.
"Alec" sang Tiffany for the hundredth time, but no one responded.
"I'm worried" whispered Vicky pulling on Jack's sleeve.
"What if something happened to him" She pulled rougher.
"Jack"
"What" He snapped turning his head towards her.
"I'm worried about Alec. What if something happened to him" Vicky repeated heatedly.
"Well, go find out" Jack replied shoving her off of him, causing her to drop her heels.
Vicky nodded and cautiously walked out on the empty street. Looking back she saw Jack and Tiffany trying to light a cigarette, not paying any attention to her.
Vicky wiped her sweaty hands on her dress.
What if something happened to him
Or someone took him, she thought worriedly.
As she approached the garbage can she saw Alec passed out on the ground.
Vicky chuckled to herself for being so un-nerved.
She started to jog over to him, when the metallic smell of blood wafted around her.
A chill ran up her spine and her chest constricted.
He probably scraped his knee when he fell down.
Yeah... Thats what happened.
I watch too many horror movies.
He's okay, just too much alcohol.
With all these thoughts jumbled up in Vicky's head, she didn't realize that she had stepped in a puddle.
"What the..."
She looked down.
Blood.
It pooled around Alec's body and soaked through his once white shirt.
His neck, was completely torn and his eyes and mouth were wide open in horror.
