This Mind, This Body, This Soul (A Poem)

This mind, it wants to flee

But this heart it pleas,

This heart wants to stay

When this mind says run away.

In this limbo this body clings

Caught upon marionette strings.

Flung about like a puppet,

Tell this mind to never forget

Never forget the pain it's been through

And tell this heart, this day he will rue.

He will never forget the day this body left

And without this body, he will be bereft

But when these eyes see his face

This heart, it will race,

And this body, it will ache,

And this mind, it will forsake

All the pain this body endures.

These eyes see his body allures.

This mind was never a match,

Because this heart, it gets a catch

In its beat when he is near.

And for him, it's very clear,

His eyes will fill with flame

And this body he will claim.

There will be no thought to disobey

Because this mind is unable to be away,

This heart unable to survive.

This soul, it doth strive

Upon his masochistic ways

That sets this body aflame.
