For everyone else, it was a normal first day of school. But not for me. This is my first school day back in Beacon Hills. First thing I noticed are all the people that bullied me and made me depressed. I don't wanna deal with them so I just put on a smile and go through the front door. Immediately, all eyes were on me. Everyone started whispering but I just continued smiling and walking tall. Now, thanks to my uncle, I know I'm better than all of them. Since he passed away, I've pushed away all the bad memories of him. I only remember him saying 'You are amazing. Don't listen to anyone that says anything different.' That helped me a lot, and if he wasn't there I would probably just stay home and refuse to go to school but I promised myself I would stay strong and fight all the bitches that bring me down. So I just go to the principal's office to get my locker number and code. Everything went smoothly, I got my schedule and went to class. First class I had was Chem. As soon as I entered the room, everyone was staring at me and all I saw was this one boy that looked really familiar. The teacher called me to his desk and introduced me to the rest of the class. I just looked at that boy and when she said 'Jessica Turner' his face just lit up. Though I was really confused, I didn't pay attention to it and just focused on the class. In the corner of my eye, I saw the boy talking to his friend behind him. A really cute friend actually.
'That's the girl you've been talking about the whole time?' I overheard the boys friend say. OVERHEARD, okay? I wasn't eavesdropping.
'Yeah. I never thought I'd see her again.'
Again? Who is this? How does he know me?
The loud bell stopped my thoughts and I got up from my desk. I ran out to the hallway cause I didn't want anyone remembering or noticing me.
'Hey, Jess!' I heard someone yelling behind me. I turned around and saw that darkskinned boy again.
'Jess, do you remember me?' he asked.
'Should I?' I said. And suddenly, it hit me.
'Scott!!' I screamed and ran to him.
'Oh my God, I didn't recognize you!' I said. 'How did you recognize me?'
'You didn't change a bit. At least for me.'
'Khm khm.'
'Oh, yeah, sorry. Jessica, this is my best friend, Stiles.'
Stiles looked oddly proud and smiled.
'Nice to meet you, Stiles.' we shook hands.
'Anyways, we gotta go to class. See you after school? Maybe you can come to my house, if you still remember where I live, that is.'
'How could I forget?' I smiled.
'Great. Well, see you then.' they both smiled and left for class.
I started walking towards the Biology classroom, when someone grabbed my arm. I turned around and there she was. The embodiment of evil itsself. The girl that made my life hell for the first 5 years. Amber Liscio.
'Oh, isn't it the main bitch up in here.' I said.
'Shut up. Can you please enlighten me and tell me why you're back?' she looked pissed.
'Why is that your buisness? I mean, why would you even care?'
'Because you're the one that can ruin my reputation.'
I laughed.
'Are you really that shallow? Aren't you the bitch that ruined my life? Go cry to your mommy.'
Next thing I remember Amber slapping me and pushing me on the ground. I hit my head really hard on the floor and I couldn't move for a few seconds.
'Leave her alone! Go and hope that I'll never see you again.'
I opened my eyes and they were all gone. All I saw was a really tall, buff guy grabbing me and resting me on the wall.
'Wow, what did you do to them?' he asked laughing.
'I don't really know. And this isn't exactly a thing to laugh about.' I said angrily.
'Okay, okay.' he smiled. 'You're lucky I got here when I did. They would've continued beating you.'
'I know.'
I looked at him. He didn't look like a teacher. Or a student. He looked older than us. He had dark hair, dark eyes and dark skin. When I realized that I started staring, I got back to planet Earth.
'Anyways, thank you.'
'You're very welcome. Have you seen Scott McCall around? I'm actually looking for him.'
What was he doing looking for Scott?
'Yeah, he's in English I think. The class will end in 10 minutes. I should really get to the principals office.' I said.
'Do you need help?' he asked.
'No, but thank you. And I never really cought your name.' I laughed lightly.
'Derek Hale. And you?' he smiled.
'Jessica Turner.' I smiled. 'I really gotta go now. See you around.' I got up and went to the principal.
Hale. That name sounded familiar. I swear my uncle talked to me about someone with that last name. Was it Phillip, Patrick..? Ugh, I can't remember. I came home and my aunt freaked. As usual. I went up to my room and all I could think about is Derek. I wonder what tomorrow will be like. Anything is better than today. I wanted to spend the rest of the day in my bed listening to music. But then I remembered.
'Oh shit! I gotta go to Scott's!'
