What Are the Odds

Canis looked around the arena. They were gonna die.

Stanley and Mabel were completely clueless about the rules, or tricks of the game.

They were gonna lose.

Such an odd way to end. Eaten by a fictional character.

He ran as Probabilitor sent forth a pair of ogres.

He felt a sword in his hand. Maybe, just maybe they had a chance. But the odds were against them.

Way against them.

But, at least he had Ford in here. Who knew what that man would think of next? Not Canis. Not Dipper. Heck probably not even Ford himself.

The wizard sent out an Ogrenado. Canis barely escaped. He was confident on their win now.

Until he saw it..

The Impossabeast!

Ford had told him of it after he began the game.

"I thought that was banned from the game!" yelled Ford.

"I'm playing the contradictory 1991-1992 edition." said the wizard.

"No fair!" yelled Canis.

"Life isn't fair, boy!" snarled the wizard. "Surely you know that by now!"

Canis fell silent. That stung. Especially coming from someone who had been made of cardboard ten minutes ago.

As Ford explained to Stan how hopeless it was, Canis struggled against the iron strong arms of the Impossabeast.

He willed the die to 38. Please? He begged with his mind.

He stared. 38. They had won.

"YES!!" he shouted.

Probibilutor screamed. He'd been foiled. As Stan pocketed the die he saw a piece of gum on the opposite side of the die from 38.

He smiled.
