Chapter 16

The Actual First Day of School (part 2)
Ok, I've fallen in love with FanFiction again. I looked back at some of the writers that got me into this and I've revamped myself back into writing.

Sorry for the delay. School along with sports and general procrastination delayed everything.

Without any further delay, let's start the next chapter of this adventure!

The foals and fillies squinted their eyes as they walked through the gate to the back of the crystal castle, where they were greeted by Prince Armor.

"Well, hello kids. Welcome to Physical Education." the snow-white stallion said, "Today I will be gauging how much physical power you have."

"So it's what Pwince Solis and Pwincess Cewestia did much with exewcise?" said Vanilla.

'Dear Celestia that's adorable.' thought Shining as he replied, "Yes it's exactly like that. So first up we have Captain."

The small Pegasus trotted up to Shining and with a smile introduced himself, "Hello, sir. My name is Captain, but you can call me Jack or Cap if it's easier."

"Nice to meet you Jack." Shining replied, "So, what I want you to do is run two laps around the track as fast as you can. I'm then going to check your pulse. When your ready go stand near the starting the line."

"Alright." he replied. He walked up to the line drawn in the dirt and dropped into a low stance, preparing to run as fast as his five year old legs could carry him.

"On your mark. Get set...." Shining said as he put the whistle to his lips.

*TWEEEET*

Captain took off like a rocket, and was soon a quarter of the way through his first lap. 3 minutes later he crossed the finish line, panting heavily and sweat dripping from his fur.

"Not bad, you did that in 4 minutes and 36 seconds. Your pulse was at 106 beats per minute." said Shining.

"Cool! Is that good?" asked Captain.

"For someone your age, it's great. Let's see next up is Orion." said Shining as he smiled at his nephew.

"This is going to be good." said Dusk as he looked out over the field from the castle observatory.

"Ooohh! Are we playing a game of ISpy? I do so adore that game." said a voice that seemingly came from a uniquely shaped lamp.

"Nope, just getting ready to watch how my brother is going to deal with the fact that my adopted son, although he is magically inclined, has little to no physical endurance what-so-ever." Dusk replied as he spoke to said uniquely shaped lamp.

"Ooohh, even better!" said the now fully sized Draconeequs. With a small *POP* he conjured up 2 recliners and 2 buckets of popcorn for him and Dusk.

"Is it wrong that I'm going to enjoy this?" asked Dusk guiltily as he sat down and began munching on popcorn.

"Are you really going to ask the God of Chaos and Disharmony that question?" Discord replied.

"Point taken." he said.

'It took him ten minutes to do both laps. Note to self: make sure that Twily and Dusk exercise their bodies as well as their minds.' thought Shining as he looked at his now collapsed nephew.

A chill ran down Dusk's spine as his brother looked up at him though the window.

"Hmmm...." he said.

"What is it?" asked Discord.

"I get the feeling that I'm going to be lectured by my brother later." Dusk replied.

"What makes you say that?"

"I have no idea...."

Needless to say, at least he had somewhat of an accurate gauge on what their times might be.

"Thank you guys for sticking this out. There are waters over near the tent for each one of you. Don't drink too fast, though." said Shining as soon as Starry was done running.

'Interesting, the Pegasi were slightly faster than the Earth ponies on foot.' he thought as he looked back over the list. "Not that I expected much from some five year old foals."

"All right. Next, were going to have a little fun. For those of you who are tired, you can sit this activity out." Shining said as he looked over at his nephew, who had just given a sigh of relief.

"What are we going to be doing Mr. Armor?" asked Jack.

"You will be racing to the end of the field and back. The first one back gets a special treat." he said with a smile.

"All right lets go!" said Storm enthusiastically.

"Let's do it!" Jack replied.

"Why aren't you racing Vanilla?" asked Jade.

"I didn't feel like getting sweaty for no reason." replied Vanilla, "What about you Owion."

"I'm *cough* still *wheeze* recovering." he said as he sat with the others who weren't racing.

The unicorns weren't racing for obvious reasons. (As demonstrated by Orion.) However, much to the others surprise, Snowy decided she was going to race with the other three pegasi and earth pony.

At the makeshift starting line, Jack, Storm, Starry, Link, and Snowy all lined up.

"On my go, you will run to the end of the garden and back." said Shining, "On your mark get set go!"

Somehow, Snowy ended up winning the special treat. No one that day could figure out how she won, but they also learned that she had an unquenchable sweet tooth.

Let's cover the other classes in future chapters. Well I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. Sorry if it's a bit short, but I was starting to ramble on, and once I start adding needless details I can't stop. So with that said TheodorePCuddles are you happy?! Does this satisfy your need for PoNe?! Don't worry I'm still getting scolded by a certain Pie for not updating quickly. Ill try for another chapter in one to two weeks. Sound good?
