This story is set in a classroom and at a hostel. Those who live as a student can learn from this, A girl of flower. The story tells about Maimunah, a first year student. She is focusing on becoming the best in her studies. However, she have certain problems which on her way of becoming the best, she is bothered by her classmates; Qistina, Melati and Fifi, as well as her hostel's housemate, Hafizah and Ain. They are always making noise that disturbs her studies. Maimunah finally snaps when she is bother by her hostel's housemate and scolds them to be quiet. Slowly, she realizes her rude behaviour and feels guilty. She begins to change herself and apologize to her classmates and her hostel's housemates. They also apologize to her and make up. From forgiving each other, Maimunah finally understand her friends.
This play is a creative response to Patrick Teoh's short story entitled 'Give and Take'. The original plot is remains the same where Maimunah explode due to stress trigger from her friends. The characters and the settings are subject to change as it is according to a life as a student. The settings of the original are maintained: that is happens in the present time. In this adaptation, a new character is introduced; Maimunah, a protagonist of the story and also a nerd girl who is focusing her study on becoming the best. The story is told from her point of view of a student who is having conflict with her friends having different attitudes. There are also additional characters such as Qistina, Melati, Fifi, Ain and Hafizah. Qistina, Melati and Fifi are her classmates and also a group of gossiping girls. In addition, Ain and Hafizah are her roommates. Ain is a fashion's enthusiast while Hafizah loves heavy music. As for the theme, the original theme of respect and tolerate each other is retained.
The main reason underlining the changes made to creative response of 'A Girl of Flower' is to tell the story from the point of view of a nerd student who has privilege life. Instead of being a student, Maimunah's character is introduced to explain to the audience a struggle experienced by her to deal with her private life that is very challenging for her to overcome it. The play also adds in a lot more of other characters which intrigue the protagonist.
