When I woke up in the morning and looked to the side, I was alone in the bed. The clock read 6am. Next to me, there was a note which read ‘Sorry I had to leave in such a rush but I leave you with this rose as beautiful as you’. I couldn’t help the grin that made its way onto my face as I thought of how sweet my boyfriend was. Sneaking into my house and having me wake up like this would make any girl feel special.
I got up from the bed and made my way into the bathroom for my morning shower to then get ready for school. The steamy, hot shower felt amazing as it pounded on my body. After forty five minutes of scrubbing my body with soap and washing my hair, I turned off the shower and grabbing my towel, I made my way through the hallway and into my room. I took some time to straighten my hair flat and to dress. I put a pair of black leggings on with an oversized striped peach and black shirt that’s see through in the back.
I wore black flats with it and grabbed my peach purse to match it. As I made my way down the stairs; I was disappointed to find an empty kitchen with no breakfast served. On the kitchen counter there was a note from Cameron that read ‘Taking the kids to school, be there to pick you up at 7:45’. I looked at the time on the microwave which read 7:32 am. With a few minutes left to spare, I made my way out the door to catch the bus.
There was no way I was letting Cameron take me to school; Will would freak out. I couldn’t help but admire the beautiful pink, red, and yellow roses that my mom grew in the front lawn. She had spent so much time working on them that sometimes, I think they’re her most prized possession. On my way to the bus stop, I heard a horn beep behind me. I turned to see Cameron’s black colored Jaguar behind me.
I huffed in annoyance and kept walking. “I’ll follow you all the way to school so you might as well just hop in the car and drop the little girl act” he stated in annoyance. I turned to his car, opened the door, and hopped in. The first few minutes of the car ride were silent until Cameron said “That wasn’t so bad now was it?” He smiled. “Just drive, I’m in a good mood so don’t try to ruin it” “Now why would I do that? I think I’ve been pretty nice to you, you on the other hand, not so much.
“Yes, because you deserve so much kindness” I retorted. “After what I” his sentence was cut short when Will’s demanding voice said “Get out the car Aubrey”. I got out the car. ”Good morning to you too babe” I replied with as much sarcasm that I could muster. “I told you to stay away from this loser” Will said venomously.
“Well, well, well is little Willis mad. Shall we get the baby a bottle of milk or his pacifier?” Cameron laughed. “How about we go to class and pretend this never happened, anyone?” “Sounds good to me”, I heard the voice of an angel agree with me. Ava, my best friend who may I say, saved the day appeared from in back of Cameron. “I got to go to class, I’ll see you later on today” she said.
“Wait for me, we have first period together” I told Ava. Her eyes flicked behind me for a split second. She planted a kiss on my cheek and said “Knowing you, I’ll get to class late” with that, she walked away to her first period just as the warning bell rang, signaling that we only had five minutes before class began. I dragged Will away from Cameron’s evil looking grin and planted a kiss on his lips. This seemed to distract him but not in the way that I thought it would.
He looked rather nervous, as though it was not what he wanted. “Thanks for the rose baby, it was sweet of you” I said. “Rose, what rose?” he asked rather confused. “The one you left on my bed this morning” I asked confused. “Oh yeah, right, the rose. I’m sorry; it sort of slipped my mind.
I’m having a crazy morning, you’re welcome Aubrey” I couldn’t help but notice he kept glancing around the parking lot. “Everything okay, you’re acting kind of weird?” I asked while making my way to my locker to pick out the books I would need for my first class. “Yeah I’m just a little tired what with football practice and all” He smiled. “When’s the first game and is your girlfriend going to be wearing your jersey? I smiled. “Well, only if she’ll let me take it off her after the game on Friday night.
