Prologue

- 1 Year Ago-

"Hey, are you up?" he asked me. I heard footsteps shuffling closer to my bed. I knew who it was, he always came into my bedroom and we'd just talk 'till we would fall asleep but now he pulls the cover and hops into my bed. he pulls me close to his chest, as my back faces him.

"Of course I'm up. I was waiting for you." I say silently as I snuggle closely to his chest. "So have you gotten my Christmas present yet?" I ask him. He scoffs and says, "Sure did. I'm the best boyfriend a girl could ask for."

"Or a boy could ask for." I state, chuckling softly. We stay talk about many things until we fall asleep.

By the time I got up he had already left. I changed and got ready for school. I rushed downstairs- OH MY!!- my parents are making out on the kitchen counter. I quickly cover my eyes and yell, "Please stop! My eyes, oh no I'm blind!" I exaggerate a bit too much. I peek through my hands and see them standing in front of me with their arms crossed in front of them. Oh thank lord. they stopped.

"So... dad can you take me to school today?" I ask. "I thought Kyle was going to take you to school today." he says. "He said he couldn't today cause he had to finish a project with his partner early in the morning."

"Alright go start the car. I'll be right there." He says. I think he is going out to make out with mom again. I step out the doorway and say, "Bye mom. Hey dad, can you make it quick though? I don't want to be late."

Dad drops me off at school and I meet up with my cousin Patricia and my best friends Amiee and Ellen. We walk into school and Ellen asks, "So where is your boy toy?" they know I'm dating Kyle, I'm planning on telling my parents today it was something Kyle and I agreed on yesterday night.

"Oh, he had to finish a project in the library. I'm going to surprise him with his birthday present today, since I won't be here for his party tomorrow." I tell to them. The bell rings and I head off to my music class with Patricia.

"I can't believe Pete! He totally played his girlfriend and she had to find out like that it's unbelievable!" she is fuming. I was mad at my cousin Pete too, how could he humiliate that girl in front of the whole school. "He's a prick but he is family so I guess we just gotta deal." I say.

RRRIIINNNNGGG

I get up from my seat and run the hella out of class. It's time for lunch. I push by every one trying to get to the cafeteria. my favorite lunch lady is Ms. Sands, she always hooks me up. I go to my table and start eating. "Are you serious? How do you always get here so fast? You know what I don't even want to know." says Patricia as she sits down. I laugh and go back to eating my food don't even notice when everyone else comes to sit down.

"Hey where's Kyle? Lunch is almost over. " says his best friend, Simon. He probably got stuck talking to his coach. " I'll go see what's up. He is probably in the locker room. I'll see you guys later." I say. I get up and grab my stuff heading towards the locker room. I open the door and I see Kyle making out with another girl. What the hell is going on?

I don't understand, they don't even know I'm here. I should leave but I'm frozen I can't move. I don't know how long I stand there but I finally I turn around slowly and I leave them there, with tears threatening to spills. "Victoria?" I hear him say. but I don't turn around instead I quicken my pace. Don't look back. Don't look back!"
