As Captain Kenway and Adewalé went to take Anna to the brig, the drunk pirates on deck still merrying the night away called,
"Anna!! Come give us a dance, lass!"

Anna stiffened as some of the pirates approached her, and Adewalé put a protective hand between the pirates and Anna. But, Kenway had a better idea. It could backfire, but it was worth the risk.

"Adé, let the lads give her a dance."
Kenway ordered.

Anna and Adewalé turned to Captain Kenway with surprise as the pirates let out a cheer, grabbed Anna, and pulled her into the circle of dancing pirates.

A pirate on the flute had joined the red-headed pirate named Soap on his guitar. With their music in the background, Anna was dragged into a quick, merry jig,

"Where am I to go me jollies,
Where am I to go?
Whey, hey, ey, high low, and go!"

Anna had never heard the song sung so quickly or humorously. A pirate with a huge grin came and grabbed Anna from her previous partner, and twirled her with the weight of a feather.

She was startled at the pirate's smooth skill and laughed nervously as he glided her around the deck. The pirate hooked arms with her and skipped before the pirate passed her to Joel. At first, Anna was uneasy of dancing with the pirate who whipped her. Maybe it was the herbs or the fact that Joel was a rather fun dancer, but quickly, Anna's smile blossomed vibrantly as she continued to dance.

Kenway and Adewalè watched the beautiful blonde from The Jackdaw steps with pride.

"Do you think she will choose to stay, Captain?" Adewalè asked.

Kenway looked at his quartermaster,
"Of course she will, Adé. Look at her!"

They followed the smiling blonde head of twirling hair as it danced effortlessly among the center of the group.

One of the pirates put his hand on Anna's back and she yelped as the pain for the whipping burst through her back and infested her nerves in long-awaited revenge.

The pirate looked terribly awkward as he drew his hand away, and Anna quickly dismissed herself from the dance.

She walked back to Edward and Adewalé. The quartermaster spoke,

"Party's over for you I imagine?"

"Aye," She nodded with a weak smile.

Reality suddenly crashed down upon her.
She was smiling at pirates...she was dancing with pirates.

What am I getting myself into?

"Adé, take her down below and see that she gets some medicine and a blanket. " Ordered Captain Kenway.

"Aye captain." Nodded Adewalè.

Anna and the African began descending the steps to the brig. He didn't grab her arm this time; he knew that this time, she wanted to go back to the cell.

"Let's get your herbs on the way," Adewalè said.

Anna nodded, deep in thought.
Halfway down the stairs, Anna stopped. She had to know. She had to ask him.
